Our family got a new tablet and even tho it was on my username the email was synced to my dads email. So...I snooped on his email. There was a long rambling email from someone thanking him for a book recommendation and saying how she wanted him to give her $15 so she can afford to make a call in case she needs to call an ambulance in case these apparent pot smokers at her work "attack her" with smoke and she needs to call an ambulance. It's 3 days & my mom is still giving me the silent treatment. It started when I decided to clean my bathtub that was stained with glitter. I decided to ask my mom to fix the lever that was stuck so I could wash the glitter out without the tub draining out. My mom asked me why I needed the lever & she complained that I was going to waste water & not use the sponge which I was going to use. And then my mom decided to watch me clean the tub to which I told my mom that she didn't have to watch me clean the tub I knew what I was doing since I cleaned a stained tub full of glitter before & my mom continued to watch me, until she started suggesting a way to clean out the tub. I kept telling my mom to just let me clean the tub instead of telling me how I should be cleaning it & my mom got annoyed & started cleaning half of the tub. Then my mom started saying this is why you're a slow learner. Me & my mom argued to where she yelled at me to get out of the bathroom, & tried to swat me away. Me and my mom started having a bad relationship around the time I turned, **** idk, But after she had my two younger brothers she always showed favortism to my older and younger ones. I was always the sister on the sidelines watching them play sports and do stuff without me. I remember I wrote a note to her when I was younger because I was afraid to stand up to her because she put that fear in me that I shouldn't. But then she got mad at me for it. My mother is an awful person. She says the worst things and treats us like we are nothing. I feel so sorry for my father. She tells my father that she only married him for comfort and that she never really loved him. She almost killed my older brother when he was a baby. This was when my parents separated for a year. About a month ago, I saved up for a bookshelf at a specialty furniture store. I researched which one I wanted, and the costs. I had enough money to afford it. A few years back, I was one out of ten cars involved in a wreck at the hands of a drunk driver. Anxiety from that prevents me from driving long distances. The furniture store was about an hour away. I live with my parents and asked my mom to drive me. She said no, and insisted that we find a cheaper shelf at a garage sale. Keep in mind that I'd have bought the shelf with my own money at the specialty store. We found an ugly shelf for $20 and she bought it for me. It needed to be painted. None of the paint would take to the wood. We sanded and primed and did everything we could. Almost a month later, and $120 spent on paint, primer, and sanding equipment, the shelf is finally done and it looks terrible. I don't want to use it. But my parents spent their own money on it and their own time working on it, so I feel horrible about it. But at the same time, the bookshelf I wanted was $70 and looked lovely and I'm just very angry that I wasn't allowed to have the one I wanted if I was going to be the one paying for it. It's been this huge expensive project that both my parents have put many hours and money into. I just feel really guilty for not wanting to use it. It doesn't look good at all and I'm worried the quality of the paint and with what a emss it's been, it'll stain the bindings of my books. I'm very frustrated

I don t understand why my family treats me so differently. My sisters just don t seem to like me. I m 18 and eldest. Every time we get in a fight, the two of them always team up against me and even when I m right they just won t ever accept it. My parents don t even listen to what I have to say. My sisters hit me. he just go's out of his way to piss me off, singing in the most annoying voice, he leads his friends to pick on me. and worst i've had to share a room with him since i was born which is really annoying because he likes to stay up late and i don't, if i do something that pisses him off he will just irritate me because hes bored, its not like i can move rooms because every other room is full, even when we go away people assume i will be happy to share a room with him because i'm use to it nothing drives me nuts more than going away and still having to share a room with him how can i stop this pest of mine from making every day terrible?

My mom gets so upset with me and my dad when we move her stuff without telling her. Then when she is running late for work and looking for it she can't find it and gets upset that we don't tell her where we put it or help her look. We don't remember where we put her stuff. We just move stuff willy-nilly when we need our own things.

I continued a degree for their sake so that they do not have to be shamed in the society and because of me they do not have to bow their head among the people in the community. Pushed and pushed and pushed and lost all of me, I am so depressed to the point where i just do nothing in the home. And my mum comes to me and starts shouting how a girl who cannot even manage her clothes will manage her future home. she blames me for the state I am in right now. Well, I am on the verge of abandoning them and go travel abroad. She doesn't give me emotional support or even understand my pain in life. Now she makes me realise that my life is owned by the society we live in. I mean come on seriously. You do this, you don't do that because it won't look good for the society. What the hell is that really? She says degree is important, more than my happiness in life. I mean is she for real saying that. I owe my life to a society that i was born into without my choice. Nothing is more disappointing than having a mother who only sees your weakness but not the reasons behind those weakness, the things that affects me....everyday is living a life lost to a misery and dying to myself and how come she being my mother doesn't understand my pain..iconic

I know this might seem a petty matter but it was hurtful. My cousin who lives in America refused to accept a product(perfume) that my dad had purchased for her as a gift as it had been long since we had met each other. When my dad offered her the gift she refused by saying that she will never use it and it will be a waste as she uses products of only superior brands, when I know for sure that the brand is really good and does quite well but the point is we felt inferior and I could see it on my dad's face even though he denied. Was it right on her part, should I do the same thing?

I m 14 years old and my mom is insane. Please help with advice I don t know what to do anymore. I m 14 and I m homeschooled against will, and treated like crap. I cook dinner for my mom and siblings every SINGLE DAY. If I miss 1 day and my mom does it she throws a mega FIT. I also clean everything in the house, I do the dishes and rest of the house cleaning everyday. I also massage her back EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. To top it all off I work a nanny job 3 times a week and give her all my money. She doesn t even let me keep a dime. All I do are the things I listed above I never hang out with my friends or go out unless it s to church. I go to church every Sunday and she gets mad at me for THAT. She doesn t like it when I have friends and if I like a boy I m a sl"t for I have to hide those things from her. She s 44 and dates men who are between 25-35. She goes man crazy over them. She ll tell me she d rather be with them than me. She doesn t let me wear anything normal, if I wear jeans and converse she ll bother me till I change into clothes she picks out for me. She s very shallow and cares about nothing but beauty. When I was 11 I was a little over weight and she made me notice. She drove me into a eating disorder. I weighed 104 at 5 7 and when I will try to eat she ll just tell me don t eat that you ll get fat.I do nothing but love her and support her and I m going crazy. Please any good advice? I love my mom and don t want to leave her but I need advice. Help.

they get mad if i do something without asking fot their opinion. I decided I didn't want to graduate because it costed 300 dollars like wtf right? Also the graduation ceremony will be a month after we're done with school. Half of my friends won't be in the country and the other half cant pay. My family is really mad at me for taking my money back from the school. Like if they want the money i'll give it to them it's no big deal. I just thought that it would be better to spend it on a graphics tablet or something since i want to major in arts. I'll graduate from university, isn't that enough? Why do i have to ask them before i do anything? I'm not a kid. I'm not even childesh for my age. Why are they getting so worked up over something like this? like i get that it's important, but it's not THAT important. What do i do?

I turned 18 a few months ago. My mother had an arguement two days ago because I walked past a bag with recycling without taking it outside. I didn't notice it because it wasnt my priority, and i was going to the kitchen. When I'm in there she comes down and tells me that if I see it full, I should take it outside, so I said okay I will. Then she moves on to say I should wash my laundry. I also forgot to wash it, so I immediately thought to myself that I'd do it that second, but she started to yell about it. I feel as though she acts like way more because her boyfriend is here a lot and she's making an impression, and he also makes my younger sibling miserable a lot. After this she says I do nothing around the house, and that I act like a rich kid with all of my technology. I only have a phone and a tablet, which she paid for none. Then she says that I think it's all about me; which is untrue. I haven't been doing as much housework as I should, but I still wash dishes, and vacuum when I can. I haven't done much around the house because I'm towards the end of my college course, and I'm in 5 days a week, some days 9-4 and I have an hour journey back home and I get tired. When I told her this, she tells me uni would be the same and I tell her that this determines whether I get in. She says "Well it sounds to me like you don't want to go. If you live here, you're getting a job." I tell her that I know this.

I am a 24yr old female(will be 25 end of year) and I recently got into a long distance relationship with a man(26yrs old) whom I've known for four years now, we met in college in my home state but shortly after he left for an out of state college and we have kept contact ever since meeting. A month ago, we reconnect and decided to finally take our friendship further hence our now relationship. Since reconnecting he has been very adamant about starting a family and me moving overseas with him to play pro ball in the coming months. In all honesty I find myself ready, anxious & excited about starting a family of my own. He assures me we will be stable once moved due to his profession. I am confident in him and myself only issue is telling my Mother & Grandmother whom I live with(& have lived with all my life) that I am soon to be leaving. I am the only child and feel like if I tell them I will be moving out & especially with a man that I will only get negative response.(they are both very closed minded!) But I know myself, what I am feeling now and what I need to be happy and staying under one roof with the two of them is making me depressed and wanting more for my life. Please only positive advice. How should I say it? Should I do it right before I will be moving? ETC.?

I graduate high school tomorrow, and my family went out of their way to invite my dad to my graduation. they mailed him a graduation ticket. I don't talk to him for multiple reasons. He made my life hell and I was so happy to get away from him But now all of a sudden he wants to support me graduating because it's an "important part of my life". I don't care honestly, I just don't want him to be there at all. But my family keeps saying "but it's your dad, he's showing up whether you like it or not." I feel like they don't understand. It's MY graduation, and I don't want it ruined. How can I tell them to stop? I REALLY feel uncomfortable and I don't want to see my dad but they are forcing me. How do I deal with this situation?
