Question: Engagement ring lie- what do I do?? Posted: 11 Jul 2020 05:35 PM PDT Okay so my best friend tends to copy a lot of things that I do and I honestly can't stand it. My bf of 10 years proposed in November and got my ring from a small jewelry shop in our hometown and I am obsessed! She asked where he got the ring and I panicked and lied and told her it was from zales so that there was no risk of copying. Well for whatever reason now she is super interested in the jewelry store that my fiancé went to and she has no clue my ring is from there!!! I really don't want her to get hers from there either, but I also don't know how to tell her I lied. What do I do? Do I tell her the truth or do I let it go and let her think mine is from zales forever??? Ugh |
Question: What should i do about my controlling parents? Posted: 11 Jul 2020 03:49 PM PDT First off a little detail, im a 23 year old male and i am Punjabi. I work and stay at my parents house, two years ago i met the love of my life and we are still strong today and are deeply in love. We have a plan and everything for marriage and we've been through everything together the highs and the very low lows..However, she is Fijian indian, Hindi and some Punjabi. My parents at first were okay with her but now they say i cant marry her at all, and its the usual excuse that she is simply not Punjabi. I now cant even be friends with her or talk to her at all. My parents are standing in the way of my one true happiness. They control every aspect of my life to what time im supposed to be asleep, to how much tv and games i could play. But it is my pass time and my dad says to only play an hour every couple of days. i only play 2-3 hours with friends. They barely let me watch sports because they think its not educational, they're always telling me i can only marry inside the culture thats it. in Punjabi culture the guy is supposed to stay home with his parents. if i was to go up to them and say i love her and i want to marry her, then i will get kicked out for sure. My GF and her family actually offered for me to stay at there house if i do decide to move out to save up some money, move out and they say they would help us get a court marriage. What could i do? Is it best to move out even tho ill be disowned? i have 10Gs saved up, saving more. My mental health is very bad now |
Question: Should I move out and if so when? Posted: 11 Jul 2020 12:24 PM PDT My sister and I live together because neither of us can afford to pay for rent here in NC also not only that she can't afford day care either. I baby sit for her when she goes to work and shopping. We could move to Arkansas our home state and each afford our own place but she says she can't go until she pays down her credit because she won't have a job. She has an offer for a job on the table but says she will turn it down because it's night shift. I could leave now but she will need help and I don't want to leave her stranded. She says she will be ok if I leave but I know for a fact she'll just get deeper in debt with a daycare and credit card. |
Question: Can we combine fake flowers with real flowers at our wedding? Posted: 11 Jul 2020 07:03 AM PDT Would it look bad to use mostly fake flowers for centerpiece arrangements on the reception tables and throughout the ceremony combined, of course, with some real flowers? Not only would this save money but then also we could keep the fake flower arrangements forever after our wedding day. Also this is a weird question, but will I get to help set up the day of or day before to add the personal touches that I want? I have a lot of farmhouse signs that I want to use to decorate, a collection of photos, etc. Who usually sets up? We're looking at greenhouse venues! |
Question: Wedding reception: many round tables or fewer long rectangle tables? Posted: 11 Jul 2020 05:16 AM PDT Which would you prefer as a guest? I love the idea of having fewer family-style long tables in rows but I feel like guests might prefer smaller, round tables. |
Question: Will wedding attendees be offended by my alcohol breath? ? Posted: 11 Jul 2020 04:00 AM PDT A friend's wedding is today. Because I often experience near-crippling social anxiety, I want to get some drinks in me before the ceremony. Will someone be offended if my breath smells of alcohol? Is it even appropriate for me to have a few drinks before the wedding? Mind you, I'm not in the wedding party. |
