Question: How do you turn down nosey questions? ? Posted: 10 Jul 2020 05:40 PM PDT How do you respond to a nosey person asking you invasive questions? I tend to encounter a lot of nosey ppl these days. |
Question: Should I give an old friend a second chance? Posted: 10 Jul 2020 05:09 PM PDT There's this girl, who was my best friend in high school. We were inseparable for 2 years but she was never really a good friend. She was always getting me in trouble, doing things behind my back at my house getting me in trouble with my parents and just always bringing around bad-news people. We had several fights along the way about her immaturity and the way she behaved and pulling me into her crap and using me constantly but we always worked it out... eventually she had pulled the last straw on a summer trip after graduation I couldn't take being around her and her acting like a complete child anymore so I dropped her off at home and never spoke to her again. It's been two years since then. She's messaged me once or twice just to say hi and that she misses me but I never responded. Recently she messaged me again saying shes changed and wants to catch up with me and added an old video of us saying she was going through her camera roll and found it. Honestly, I am disgusted by the behavior in that video and the fact that she sent it to me as a "momento" makes me think she really hasn't changed. I'm doing great at a prestigious college, with a job, an internship lined up, and an amazing boyfriend who graduated college and is now an officer in the Navy. My point being that I don't really need her back in my life, but after two years I think I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt, but for my own integrity I'm not sure if I should associate myself with her again. |
Question: How to make a 12 year old girl feel better about herself? Posted: 10 Jul 2020 03:24 PM PDT At my job, my boss's granddaughter sometimes hangs around and helps. Recently my boss confided in me that the granddaughter "hated her body." I'm not particularly close with her but I understand how she feels, since I felt the same way when I was that age. She's going into high school next school year and I know it's hard thinking you're not pretty. What are some good things I can say to her? She's a very nice girl. She says the kids at her school call her skinny, and so what are some other compliments I can give her? |

Posted: 10 Jul 2020 02:38 PM PDT So basically me and one of my ex friends were best friends for a few years and we got in a huge fight in 2018 cause he kept ignoring me so i got mad and we fought and it ended then today i messaged him by accident on discord because i didn't know who it was, his tag was "anti airpods" so i said "uhhh weird name, who is this?" and he didn't reply |
Question: My friend is being used.? Posted: 10 Jul 2020 10:56 AM PDT I have a friend of mine who is really sweet & always caring for people, (let's call her emma) even when they use her Emma's so sweet & it's like she doesn't even realize people are using her. our age group is 16-20 I'm 16, she's 20 & has her own apartment (hense why people use her) there's one girl, who does not like Emma, but had to choice to go to Emma's apt with me cause I made plans with Emma & that wouldn't be fair of me to ditch those plans just cause someone else doesn't wanna go. right? so I basically had to beg my 'friend' to please at least let me see Emma for a bit cause I have plans with her & my other friend knew that. this friend that I'm talking about is basically homeless, living off her friends. don't feel bad, she chooses not to live her NORMAL parents & that's on her. but the next day, after everything she had to say about Emma, she had no place to stay & literally took it upon herself to go Emma's apt and put on this personality as if they were friends after saying the previous day how much she didn't like Emma & didn't wanna go there, so knocks on her door and asks to hangout which I find super weird cause emma is MY friend. but ofc, Emma didn't realize the act the girl just put on cause she never does fall for it. I asked the girl 'so where did you end up staying last night' & she's like 'Emma's' & I kinda just left it on seen, should she know I'm upset cause I can tell she's using my friend ? I wanna say something but I don't wanna start anything. wwyd? |
Question: What is this called? Posted: 10 Jul 2020 10:45 AM PDT What is it called when I would cry after my best friend would leave after we would get done hanging out? And we're both adult females by the way but she's quite a bit older then me |
Question: Am I overreacting to a friend not paying me back? Posted: 10 Jul 2020 03:36 AM PDT I've loaned large amounts of money to two friends. The first time, the friend defaulted on the loan. I ended up hiring a lawyer and got the principal back, but not the interest. The friend turned ugly when I tried to require repayment. I lost tens of thousands of dollars. We're no longer friends. I might sue him, but likely not (we're both Christians and the Bible indicates that lawsuits between Christians are bad). The second time, I loaned money to another long-time friend. This second friend knows about the first loan and the issues I had. The second loan, like the first, is legally documented and has clear payment dates. The second friend was to pay some interest on July 5. He didn't. I've asked him now 3 times for payment and he keeps saying, "Oh, yes, I'll pay you." But he hasn't. So the second loan is off to a bad start. I'm not going to lose a cent this time, and I'm already mad that the second friend hasn't paid on time. I plan to email the second friend today, tell him that I've already asked him 3 times to make payment, which was due on July 5, and tell him that it's over: he needs to get a replacement lender and that if he pays me back my principal by the end of July, I'll waive the interest. Does that sound reasonable or am I overreacting to a friend missing a payment deadline by 5 days? Thanks. 1 Corinthians 6 says that Christians ought not sue each other in court. |
Question: How do I stop my ex from rubbing her perfect life in my face? Posted: 09 Jul 2020 11:17 PM PDT I consider myself a good guy I think most people would agree. But when I see my ex's Instagram stories, where she's vacationing in Luxembourg with her beau (this d-bag named Lorenzo), I get angry. She could, at the very least, shoot me a text, telling me she's gonna post some bulls**t on her feed today and that I should the 'gram for a while. It would only be considerate. I hear the comments already- just unfollow her! But if I did that, it wouldn't bode well for the promise she made to me when we broke up, that we would remain friends. Friends follow each other on Instagram. We broke up shortly before the plandemic, but we were planning on hanging out at restaurants and clubs as friends. Again, COVID screwed everything up, so what do I do? Delete my Instragam app? I'm in quarantine, what am I gonna do, scroll through Twitter when she's constantly posting about how Lorenzo makes her whole, and she tweets out dumb-a** political hot takes about how Joe Biden's some kind of "lesser of two evil"? Like?! Does she want to get Trump re-elected or some s**t? Who has she become even? Need help desperately. |
Posted: 09 Jul 2020 10:09 PM PDT I live in an apartment with two other roommates. We all live very close and we are friends so we all do a lot of the same activities. My roommate started to feel sick so we all decided to get tested. Myself and another roommate came back negative and one roommate came back positive. Very odd?? |
Question: How do you drop a crazy friend? Posted: 09 Jul 2020 07:08 PM PDT I have a friend who literally faked a pregnancy and a miscarriage and is doing everything in her power to get any attention like she's a child. She even legally changed her middle name to the same as mine and lied about having the same health issues I have. The pregnancy she kept googling symptoms and coming back to me saying she's pregnant. I called her out on it even after 5 at home test she did were negative then 3 doctors said the same thing to her. She went to the next extreme then lied in multiple Facebook groups I'm in telling people she had a miscarriage when she was never even pregnant to begin with. After I had major surgery she straight up told me she knows my pain and that if she didn't take pain killers she would be dead. Mind you she's never had lung surgery or a collapsed lung. Then days later said she was googling fibromyalgia and some bone disease and said she has it even though she's never been told that. Anytime she messages me she instantly starts talking about herself or trying to 1 up me. How can I cut this crazy broad off without her going nutso on me? |
Question: Put it in her face? ? Posted: 09 Jul 2020 06:39 PM PDT I had a old friend tell me about 5 years ago that she thought, beaten the two of us that she'd be Joe College (she'd be the one graduating college) and that I'd be the one to have kids early. (I don't think any less of people that have, but bear with me.) She said that we'd be switched around. I'm graduating with another degree on top of the one BA I already have in December if 2020. Can I please, please, please send her a notification of graduation? I just want to shove it right in her face! I hope it's not about us being to different races. |
Question: Is it rude to tell someone you wanted to invite them but thought they’d say no? ? Posted: 09 Jul 2020 06:33 PM PDT A friend of mine always says they can't come when I do them to go for outing with me. They mentioned how the one I went on looked fun. So would it be rude for me to tell them I wanted to invite them but thought theyd say no. |
Question: Is it okay to not laugh at people's jokes if you don't find them funny? Posted: 09 Jul 2020 05:55 PM PDT I don't want to look like a douche, but when someone tells a joke I don't find funny I'll usually give them a little fake laugh.. I don't want to do it anymore. Is it more honest to not laugh than to laugh at something you didn't find funny? Am I being dishonest with myself and that person when I laugh? |
