Question: What does 'want you to be ok' mean here? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 02:36 PM PDT PLEASE HELP ME INTERPRET THIS - I HAVE ASPERGERS AND STRUGGLE TO. I said to someone on my Facebook that 'I have no friends to talk to anymore' when I was feeling a little down. 'Hi Tom, I hope you're ok. Has something made you feel this way today? Because like i've said before, i dont know anyone that hates you. There are lots of people who care about you and want you to be ok' Tl;dr - Do you think that the person who said this to me is my friend? |
Question: How did I handle the situation with someone trying to use me? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 01:31 PM PDT I had a friend call me and ask if I was free to go to a party with him. Here is how the conversation ensued: Me: yeah, I'm free. Him: Cool, do you mind driving? Me: Actually I'll let someone else drive this time. Him: No, that won't work. Me: Why not? I've driven you more times than I can count. I don't see why you can't return the favor. Him: Your house isn't on the way to the party? Me: So what? I've driven you out of the way repeatedly before, so you can do the same. Him: I can understand if you can't make it. Me: Oh, I can make it. I just want someone else to drive. If needed, I'll get a ride to your place, and someone else will drive from your place. Him: If you don't want to go to the party, you can always just drive us there and go home - we can find our way back from the party. Me: Ummm, no. I'm free to go to the party - but I want someone else to drive. Him: Yeah, unfortunately that won't work. Me: Ok, so in other words you were only calling me so you could get a ride. Him: Well, ubers are hard to find with COVID and all, and we want to get drunk. Me: So? I want to get drunk too - someone else can take one for the team and drive. Did I handle this ok? |
Question: Does he just want my company? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 12:51 PM PDT I have been running into a guy frequently on my college campus, and we have previously met at a friend s parties. Since then, we have been waving/saying hi, and smiling whenever we see each other. We would chated briefly every now and then. Now, few days ago, he asked me to eat lunch with me when I was eating lunch on my own in the cafeteria. We don t know each other well, so we tried to get to know each other but there were few awkward pauses. He also offered me some of his food ! This also happened again, he asked me if want to join him for lunch, and the conversation was smoother and we laughed more and he talked about things he likes to do, and even stories from childhood. He is in the class above me, and he had no reason to sit with me because there were other spots, and we barely know each other. Is he just trying to be my friend? does he just value me as a person? Friend? |
Question: Is it too risky to hold an outdoor gathering with less than 10 people? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 12:15 PM PDT We will all be wearing masks and socially distancing. It's going to be 6 or 7 people in total |
Question: Would I be a jerk? ? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 12:15 PM PDT My best friend in the entire world's dad died yesterday, and I want to be there for him, only problem is this Saturday I have a trip planned... nothing outrageous, I just rented a cabin and my family is going to celebrate my birthday. Would I be a butthole if I didn't cancel? |
Question: What is the most dumb way you broke up with your former friend ? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 10:57 AM PDT I dont even know how this happen I knew him for a long time we were good friends we would hangout every day even after school but then one day he randomly talk trash to me so I thought it was a joke I started to call him names back then he got really mad at me for no reason and we never ever talk to each other again. I really dont know why he would do this though at school I was a quiet kid I was bullied alot so maybe he thought he would do the same I thought he was just playing but guess not haven't talk to him for 11 long years. |
Question: Should I unfriend Facebook friend who has stopped returning my calls.? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 10:13 AM PDT So, firstly, I know this is a petty question. This person really annoys me since they won't return my calls any more (on 2 occasions). We used to be quite close, but clearly this person has distanced themself from me. If we ever make plans to meet, they cancel which I find highly isrespectful when it happens over a prolonged period of time. I really want this person out of my life but I am afraid of running into them if I unfriend them as they are twofaced. Am also afraid of personal things they might share out of spite. Would you get rid of this leach? |

Question: Is it better to be honest when you've done something wrong? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 12:06 AM PDT I did something shady behind my friends back because I thought they were trying to trap me, so I stupidly went along with it to try to piss them off but that ended up not being the case at all and all I did was do something shady behind my innocent friend's back. I apologized, told them what I did and that I only did it because I thought they were messing with me but now they're very mad about what happened and now I'm thinking the other person involved will find out and get mad too. Was it the right thing to do to tell my friend the truth regardless or should I have kept it to myself? |
Question: Why is my 20yo daughter acting strange all of a sudden? Posted: 06 Jul 2020 11:09 PM PDT She came home one day after being gone for a week (it was supposed to be a day but she insisted she's fine and with her friends) and she has no expression all of a sudden when she's usually very expressive/bright. There was bruises on her arms and one bruise on her face scratches everywhere. She claims to have gotten "just a little tipsy" she's agitated extremely easy idk what happened I've been trying to talk & help her but she rejects my help & is very secretive. I'm getting a very bad vibe I don't know what to do at this point please help |
Question: How to ditch everyone during covid on my birthday? Posted: 06 Jul 2020 10:55 PM PDT For some reason when you tell people you want to spend your birthday in solitude decrying this dread and mournful stage of your miserable life alone they take it to mean "please throw me a surprise birthday party"? Unfortunately this is my twenty first birthday and so now its adding obligatory alcohol consumption that I don't care for and I will even be expected to pay for myself. Normally I make up some excuse, like I "forgot" to schedule the day off at work, or I'm hanging out with other people, etc, but that's not gonna fly this year. I originally assumed this birthday would be easy because I could just pretend to go to vegas or out binge drinking with ppl or whatever and people might buy it since it's traditional. Is there any excuse I can use to get out of it or at least convincingly persuade others not to surprise party me? I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. I know they think they are doing me a favor, but also I really really really don't want to get cornered and forced. Should I just go hide out in the woods till it's over? Should I just become a Jehovah's witness? |
Posted: 06 Jul 2020 10:31 PM PDT I haven't had any close friends in a long time. Where I work is a factory and everyone is in different towns thats 40 mins away. I do get out to bars to be social and meet people. I started playing basketball at the gym or outside. Maybe I need to get out and start dating again. When I moved to this city years ago I didn't know anyone. Didn't go to any college. I only met people at work, bars, or a hobby. Only hobbies was poker and basketball. |
Question: Why does my BF get jealous easily? Posted: 06 Jul 2020 10:08 PM PDT My BF and I recently started renting with a male landlord. He said to not flirt with the other guy when he is away from home. Why does my BF get jealous easily? I told him I would never flirt, which he then said he's just saying. |
Question: What are some fun hang out ideas? Posted: 06 Jul 2020 09:13 PM PDT I'm a 22 year old guy and I have a friend, who is a girl my age, that I've recently started to hang out with. We've gotten ice cream one time, dinner the next, plus a scenic drive around town in my car, etc. what is a cool and different idea for next time?? Something other than just eating food lol. |
