Question: Should I let a family member borrow $2K? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 12:17 PM PDT My wife informed me that her parents are short on their rent, again. My in laws are in their sixties and mostly unemployed. They've been unemployed since 2008 or maybe longer. My wife stated that her parents never really liked working for anyone else and have mostly gained income doing odd jobs. My in laws have been renting a house in a nice neighborhood for the past ten plus years. Their rent is $3,500 per month, the only way they have been managing to pay their rent is by, sub renting every single room in their house, to strangers. My father in law has been working as a delivery driver for the past three yeara, where he makes his own hours. I do not know all the details of the type of work that he does, but he always seems to be working, but by the of the month, they seem to always be short on their rent.My in laws have always said that financially they are not doing well. My father in law bought new car last year with a price tag of $11K. My father in law makes the financial decisions in his house hold. I don't think his ideas have or are working. My wife informed me that her dad approached her and asked if she could lend him $2K since they are short on the rent. My wife talked to me about it, and we both agreed that it would not be a good idea. The reason why were hesitant is because, we might never get repaid and the relation with my in laws will be damaged. I recently found out my in laws are not allowed to open a bank account. Any advise? Thank you. |
Posted: 05 Jul 2020 07:42 AM PDT My dad is in absolute trash because of the things he is doing now and in the past seven years such as parental abuse, emotional abuse, phycological abuse, verbal abuse, pet neglect, homophobia, and transphobia. I have already lost my cat ariel because he wouldn't take her to the vet, she passed in May this year and now one of my dogs isn't eating or drinking anything and won't open her mouth unless it's to yawn, she won't even bark and she was very vocal. I have been trying to convince him to take her but he won't listen, he has the mindset of a man in the '50s when the man is in power and everything has to be his way or it's wrong. please tell me, what should I do?? |

Question: I’m sad how to overcome? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 04:45 AM PDT okay so long story short. I feel like in a funk. My boyfriend I realized last night will never be how I want him to be (lots of family drama and guilt that he feels affecting himself) so I will not have that just nice easygoing relationship (and yes I know all things have ups & downs but this is different.). My friends are in and out my best sidekick is gone, everyone else when they get busy act shady towards me. I'm going on vacation and I'm not even excited. I just feel lost and I don't know what to do, to get over it. I feel sad because none of this is what I want if that makes sense. I want a good boyfriend who doesn't have constant family issues, I want good friendships where I can always count on someone. What should I do? I just don't feel happy and I hate it. I'm 18 I should be happy but I'm just not. I have loving parents, aunts uncles, grandparents but it's like this inner conflict that I have going on with my boyfriend and friends. |
