Question: Is this "sugar mommy" legit or just scamming me? Posted: 06 Jul 2020 05:13 PM PDT This account posing as an older woman reached out to me (18F) on Instagram basically asking me to be an "online friend" in exchange for an allowance. What concerns me is their insistence upon using mobile check deposits cause I'm very wary of being sent fake checks. I feel like PayPal/Venmo would be a lot safer for this type of thing but they seem adamant on using checks. This all seems a little sus cause they seem to be very eager to give a bunch of money to someone they just met but I'm new to the sugar world so I don't really know if this is normal or not. I'm pretty courteous and friendly in the conversation just in case it is real, but I was wondering if y'all thought this is a scammer or not. Attached is a screenshot of essentially our entire conversation until now. |
