Question: Do I owe my wife a nice dinner for keeping me out of truouble? Posted: 08 Jul 2020 02:06 PM PDT My wife and I were at her mother's (Kari) house. My wife was showing me the family photo album. In it was Kari's pictures as a swim suit model. Wow, was Kari great looking and had a figure to die for. I told my wife "I see where you get your good looks. Your mother is gorgeous ". Kari heard me and came over and hugged me and said "You made my day". My wife asked her mother if she could still get in the bathing suit she had on in the pictures. Kari said "Yes, they still fit". My wife ask her mother to put one on so she could get a picture of her now in the swim suit. Kari said she did not think she should do that as the swim suit was too revealing. Kari turned to me and said "You would not like to see me in a micro bikini would you"? Every guy reading this knows what the truthful answer is but I can not say that. My thought was OH CRAP. What can I say without getting my wife mad at me? My wife saved the day for me. She said "MOM, every guy likes to see a beautiful woman in a micro bikini". I think I owe my wife a dinner at a nice restaurant for keeping me out of trouble. Gals, do I? |
Question: My mom ruins everything. ? Posted: 08 Jul 2020 01:46 PM PDT I have severe depression and the few times I'm actually happy, she ruins. There's always a problem with her. That sometimes doesn't even involve me but she throws me into it. Today for example I had just gotten off phone talking to a friend, when she called saying I need to help her with her dogs tomorrow because she has to work late. I go over nearly every day to her house for some reason. I had already made my mind up before she called that I was gonna hang with sister and reveal i like someone, but mom doesn't care. She's always more important. Everything is about her. When I say something like I fell and broke my toe, she just says, "too bad." It makes me so upset because I always have to hang out with her 54 year old self and I'm 30. She always says I need a social life, but I'm never home. I'm sick of being with her. Standing up to her does no good. She ruins everything in my life. I'm fed up. So if I'm never home, I don't get a fighting chance with boy I like. It's like she wants me miserable. Help! |
Question: Advice on moving in with coworker/friend (first time moving out)? Posted: 08 Jul 2020 12:06 PM PDT I am a 26 y.o female still living with my parents & grandma. I've never lived on my own. My coworker is buying a 3 family house. Her sister is living on the first floor, her oldest daughter is moving in with her bf and kids on the 2nd floor and her youngest daughter is moving in to the 3rd floor with her oldest nephew. My coworker is going to live with her sister on the 1st floor. The youngest daughter was going to move in with her friend but her friend is no longer able to so she asked me if I'd move in with her. I'm really torn right now on what to do. I'm great friends with my coworker and her daughter and it's not that bad.. only $350 a month not including electricity & gas. Do you think that I should move in with them? A part of me thinks it's time to move out since I'm almost 27 but another part of me is scared, especially since I'm super close to my family and have lived with them all these years. Any advice ? |
Question: How sad does this sound for family.? Posted: 08 Jul 2020 11:36 AM PDT Ok so my aunt I have noticed really seems to care more for her own daughter and granddaughter than her own sister and niece. I understand that she cares for them and loves them to. However there's a huge difference and to me seriously it should really just be equal. Let me tell you about her daughter and granddaughter. They have everything they could possibly need yet she still tends to give them everything and hardly ever gives us anything and we are not that good off at all. I just don't get it she even talks to them way more then she does us. We get ignored. I mean how does that make me feel when all I get is an ok and not a I love you back 💔 This is not a financial post. Also if you don't have anything nice to say then don't comment at all on this post. |
Question: Why are my brothers doing this to me? Posted: 08 Jul 2020 10:38 AM PDT I am a early teen girl with 3 older brothers that I just adore. I love to hang out with them and do things with them. They will let me do most things with them but they refuse to let me go skinny dipping with them. When I ask them why not, they tell me it is because I am a girl. That does not seem fair to me. Are they discriminating against me because I am a girl. Girls (and others) what do you think? |

Question: Is it normal to hate your step dad? ? Posted: 08 Jul 2020 06:44 AM PDT My real dad died this summer my mom told me late just so I wouldn't go to the funeral. I was very angry and upset and just needed my space but however her and her boyfriends been home more everyday home being in my business and I absolutely hate it.. he just thinks that he's my father and he's not so does my mom.. everybody paints my step dad out to be "so perfect " but I never liked him.. just his presence makes me so mad.. I'm definitely moving out at the end of the summer.. they are moving too and think that I'm coming with them but they have no idea.. I would rather be homeless than live with them again never having any space or privacy...overal is this bad?? |
Posted: 08 Jul 2020 04:57 AM PDT Someone else did this years back who was spoiling me in a way that was weird and all of a sudden when my mother ticked her off she disliked me strongly. That relative was not as close. This aunt and cousin have been close but now dislike me because my Mom pissed them off. I don't get it. |
Posted: 08 Jul 2020 04:54 AM PDT Right now I fear what lies he will come up with next. |
Posted: 08 Jul 2020 04:32 AM PDT Besides, there are alligators everywhere near where we live. He loves boats and has 3 of them parked at home which he occasionally takes out for recreational use. Neither mom nor I particularly like boats. |
Question: Should I let my family cut me off? Posted: 08 Jul 2020 01:28 AM PDT I'm close to turning 18 however currently have no interest in relationships and am focusing on school and working for now. Conversations however regarding the type of man I will be with have come up. My parents are split however still communicate and both of them are racist. They have begun to tell me if I was to have children or be with someone who isn't "white" they will no longer accept me. I responded claiming I will choose whoever I feel best for me and skin colour will not be a factor. They are confident in believing It will be someone "outside" of my race and decided they will slowly cut me off from the family. They are not evil so I'm not going to get kicked out of the home but whilst I live under my mums roof I need to begin paying 1/3 of bills and become completely independent. Am I in wrong for feeling it should be my choice who I love? Do I allow them to cut me of or just listen to what they want me to do? |
Question: Should I ignore or move out? Posted: 08 Jul 2020 01:17 AM PDT I am 27 years old, living at home. I live with my mom and dad who are divorced and my brother. Lately, my mom has been fighting and threatening me every day. She wants me to move out so she can move in with me and constantly states how unhappy she is. Every few hours, she fights with me and threatens me that we have to move and if we don't move, she will move out herself. Some days, she acts normal but she goes right back to that. She complains all the time. I am so tempted to move out myself but don't have a lot of money. Tonight, I had to go to another room for about an hour and a half. What should I do? |
Posted: 08 Jul 2020 12:41 AM PDT Everyone has at least one bully in their life. And my bully is my own MOM! She follows me around pointing out everything she thinks is wrong with me, like "You're so fat! Are you a human, or a pig?!" (I'm not fat, I'm average) "You're so lazy!" "Where did we go wrong with you? You idiot!" And she always has on this annoyed expression that always makes you feel like you're doing something wrong. Every time I try and stand up to her she just becomes worse and even hits me. What should I do?! |
Question: Are my parents control freaks? Posted: 08 Jul 2020 12:34 AM PDT Seriously! They put time limits on my iPad, and then goes on to take it away all together for no reason what-so-ever! They plan out my everyday like this: 8:00 AM: Breakfast 8:30 AM: Start doing homework And so on!... When I refuse to be controlled like this they threaten my kitten! Are my parents control freaks? I think they are but my relatives says that it's "good parenting" Help me out here! PS. I'm only 10 years old, so I can't really get a job, can I? Plus, I offered to pay for the iPad out of my allowance (which I had been saving for years) but they refuse to take it! They also forbid me from buying my own electronics. |
Question: What can be done about this family situation? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 11:34 PM PDT My family all lives together, mom, dad who are divorced, my older blood brother, my younger brother, and I. Today, my younger brother decided that he doesn't want to live with us here and wants to live with his dad full time. He would only visit a couple of days a week. He is 19 years old. He always makes excuses here of why he doesn't like living with us. He hates that our apartment is noisy and he doesn't like his bed, the list goes on and on. We recently spent money on a new mattress for him. He said after we do this, he would be happy. Every day it is a new excuse and he leaves to escape issues. So my mom got mad and asked him why he was leaving. My brother does not want to work and he doesn't go to school. He gets to sleep in here. I'm his sister and I got mad at him today and now he claims if my mom, brother, and I get an apartment he will live with us but was even backing out of that. He is constantly manipulating us every single day. He even takes food that he buys over there. What can be done about this? |
Posted: 07 Jul 2020 11:07 PM PDT I'm a 21 year old male btw. I live with my mom and I'm in college. My dad lives with his spouse and her daughter. She also thinks about me and asks about me everyday. Uggghh 🙄 |
Question: How strong does a woman have to be to have a teenage boy sit on her lap? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 10:37 PM PDT When I was 14 I sat on my mom's lap a lot like in the car and on a bus. She was in her early 50s kind of thin and looked exactly like Brady Reiter and I was 14 and thin. How could she handle it? |
Question: Is sex a futile and primitive need? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 08:17 PM PDT I feel like having sex because I'm a human with primitive needs just like most people. but I will take medication and I will have a less worrying life according to a doctor. |
Question: Why do people use "sensitive" as if it's a bad thing? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 08:01 PM PDT My stepdad uses it all the time and it kinda irritates me. He claims to check both sides when all he really watches is Fox News and often reads QAnon and David Duke's conspiracy theories. He makes up lies all the time about how "open minded" and "independent" he is, lied about founding his business and his "wrestling experience" (none of which ever happened) and really has no degree I recall of. Dude is almost 47. |

Question: Does he favor him or is he obsessed? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 07:15 PM PDT I have a brother and ever since I was young, my dad has always said my brother's name out loud when he is in the room kind of like in an endearing way. He repeats his name constantly throughout the day. One day, I was spending a day with my dad and my brother wasn't there but he kept saying his name randomly. It was strange to say the least. Whether my brother is in the room or not, he still will randomly say his name. I noticed the behavior when I was younger first. It seems almost like an obsession. I am the daughter asking this question. Do you think this is weird or does he just favor him more? |
Question: Why do I feel sad after hanging out with family and friends? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 06:34 PM PDT It seems after I hang out with my family or my friends I get this sad feeling. Nothing serious and doesn't last that long. like today me and my cousin went to Marblehead MA to takes pictures Marblehead is a rich part of Massachusetts. Than we got some pizzas after. He want back home and now I just feel sad. It also happens after a family event like a BBQ or a family gathering. Love everyone in my family. Why do I do I always get that sad feeling after hanging out? If this helps I'm 28 years old and a guy. |

Question: Am I jerk for disowning my parents forever since they disinherited me? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 05:53 PM PDT I act like they don't exist and I don't tell my kids anything about them. They don't even know their grandparents are still alive. |
Question: Elderly parent doesn’t make the effort to keep in touch with me, is this normal? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 05:48 PM PDT Even when we haven't spoken or last seen each other in a long time. My elderly parent won't even call. I'm trying not to take it to heart. But just been wondering if this a thing experienced with older people? |
Question: Why did this women harass me? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 05:42 PM PDT I was minding my own business doing my job, my niece just happened to be running around and a random women that i don't know comes up to me and said: "your little girl is growing up a lot!" I tried to tell her that she is not my kid, and that i'm 16. She brushed it all off and ignored everything i told her. She went on about how cute and grown up "my" little girl is for a while. I snapped and told her that i kept on telling her she's not my kid and the fact i'm under aged. Then she crossed the line and asked personal questions like: then who's is it? Is she your brother's kid? Your sister's? Your aunt's? You don't look 16, i thought you were 27.Are you Chinese or Japanese? I TOLD HER THAT SHE IS MY NIECE THE FIRST TIME. i told her it's none of her business. Then she kept saying "sorry." I ignored her, but i can't walk away because i was doing my job. The whole time she was saying sorry and bullsht like "is that kid chinese or japanese?" I was so pissed off, i wanted to ask her to leave. This happens A LOT. The only reason she thought she's my kid because we're both Asian. Whenever i stand next to a random Asian person everyone thinks we're related in every kind of way and ask lines of questions, they won't stay out of our business. |

Question: I want to be a better sibling? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 04:37 PM PDT I want to be that cool older sister, but I don't get along with my sister. I'm autistic and she does things that make me react and either gets mad or keeps doing it. I want to be someone who can help her in the future, and be someone she can go to for help and that, but it's difficult. |
Question: Parents guilt trip me about my decisions for college. what should i do/ tell them? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 04:36 PM PDT I am 17 (F) and have a 3.95 GPA. I've started looking at colleges and I'm interested in engineering. I sent an application to USAFA because a lot of my family has served in the military. So i thought, "i get an education and i serve". well after all the stats i read up on about the women in the military who have been sexually harassed or assaulted i decided to withdraw my application. I let my parents know about this and how it made me feel to read all the statistics. My mother told me i'm ungrateful and that she already made a down payment for a house in CO for next year (i hadn't even been accepted yet and my sister told me my parents are refinancing their current home rn). Then, my dad told me he was going to get me a brand new car of any choice if i went to USAFA but now he's not getting me one and taking away the one i have. I feel like it's unfair treatment and they completely dismissed that i'm not comfortable with all the harassment and abuse women get in the military (my bf who's in the army agreed that the military isn't nice to women). I know i can still apply to more schools but they don't see that. what do i do/say? |

Question: Sister’s bf staying home with us? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 04:09 PM PDT My sister is 18 and her bf is African and 20. Ever since the quarantine has started, our parents have allowed him to spend the night with us (like we're quarantining together). He's been here over 3 months and I want him to go home. They allow him to use our showers, laundry machines, and access our fridges at his leisure. He could go to his home but his parents would make him stay there, and his personal apartment is 45 min away so our parents don't want my sister driving there everyday. |
Posted: 07 Jul 2020 03:35 PM PDT For example if a child of a family ran away at 14 or younger and they would be 29 today. Somebody who looks like them a little bit pretends to be the missing child of the family. |
Question: How to tell my dad to watch his mouth around my family? Posted: 07 Jul 2020 12:14 PM PDT Every night, around midnight (we do dinner the Spanish way in my household), we have family dinner and my dad is always fast-and-loose with the jokes and the quips and the stories. My wife was talking about our son's recent football injury that ****** up his leg probably for good, and my dad interrupted and told this story about a call girl in the 60s who had a wooden leg- he said this was an okay story to tell because it was 55 years ago and my mother and him had already worked through the betrayal- and he told this story about how the leg popped off in the middle of the act. We all admonished him to stop, but he insisted it was a funny story. My mom was actually laughing along! She's an enabler! How do I tell my own dad to pipe down, without him feeling offended and betrayed!? |
