Question: What should I get a 98 year old man for his birthday? Posted: 02 Jul 2020 01:30 PM PDT My great grandfather is turning 98 on July 7th. What should I get him for his birthday? |
Posted: 02 Jul 2020 12:58 PM PDT My grandpa was a WWII vet. He was born in 1924,served as a PFC in the United States Marine Corps. He served for more than 40 years local community as general practitioner in our area just outside Wilmington NC. He got married in 1946 to a girl he met in high school. That girl was my grandma. He died in 2015. Grandma died in the year 2000. Sometimes in his interviews about his service he told what he did after the war and he told about ganny. I was watching his last interview, which was about in 2013. He said, speaking about her ' She was a great girl. Couldn't have a better wife' and he meant that. They fought sometimes too as everyone does. They were not all lovey dovey all the time but they were together for thick or think. That ' Couldn't had a better wife' got me. I had forgotten about it. Grandma had been gone 13 yrs yet he still felt that way. Why do you think people born in the 60s and later just didn't make things work like them? |
Question: Clothes allowance for teen girls? Posted: 02 Jul 2020 12:27 PM PDT I have 15 & 13 year old gilrs. We take them to shop couple times a years for cloths & shoes. Currently I have plan to give the girls allowance the fixed amount of $ a year so they can buy whatever they like, they can save money or buy clothes with the allowance. The younger one immedialtly told her older sister give her whatever clothes the older one want to throw away so she can reuse them to save money .Normally the older girl would say yes yes take whatever you want so she can buy new clothes but Supprisely this time she said " I will keep all old clothes ". The younger girl ask " what would you do with old clothes? " The older one answer " it is mine I can do whatever I want".I am really upset about the older girl I belive she is selfish who doesnt want her younger sister save more money than her. did I really do any wrong here? I just want to teach the girls about resposibility , about money and about saving. I have few plans : - Plan A : give them same fixed amount of money and tell the younger girl pay few bucks for each old item she wants from her old sister , but sound really weird to me becuase It is crazy when sister has to pay for each other to get the old clothes . I am afraid I will creatve the bad habit - Plan B : I will give more money for the older one with the condition she has to give her younger sister whatever old clothes she does want any more . - Plan C : just do the old way Please help me on this if you have any better idea . Thank you all so much |
Question: Why do many of my relatives and friends say that my mom should’ve used a condom? Posted: 02 Jul 2020 12:13 PM PDT I know what they are. My mom had me at 18 while my dad was 23 I believe. I know that it's real young and perhaps too young but isn't it a bit disrespectful to down right say that she should've used a condom? They usually poke me and whisper this while pointing at her saying that she looks like a complete whore too. I am only 14 so I'm not sure if this is normal. |
Question: Anyone ever been attracted to a sibling? Posted: 02 Jul 2020 11:36 AM PDT |
Posted: 02 Jul 2020 11:04 AM PDT It was Facetime that came on so I could tell what they were doing though I only saw about 20 seconds of it and then turned off. I was too embarrassed to say "guys I am here". Not trolling and showing my name so you know I am not, honestly asking do I kid my Dad about it or just let it go. Not going to tell my step-mother. |
Question: What do you mean by sweet cheeks? Posted: 02 Jul 2020 11:01 AM PDT |
Posted: 02 Jul 2020 10:54 AM PDT I am so miserable by this and it makes me hate my parents friends. I am 16 and we cannot see our friends until there is a vaccine our Mom says because our Grandma is at risk. Yet, at the beach my parents are seeing various couples they are friends with and say it is fine because we are at the beach and not in Westchester County where we live. All my friends are back in Westchester County. I see some over Zoom and Facetime but that is all. It is not that I hate my Mom's friends, I am sure they are fine people, but I hate that they see their friends when barring my sister and I from seeing ours anymore until there is a vaccine or schools go back. It is so hypocritical. Two weeks ago we were at the beach and some of their friends came inside with my parents only change is they are not having all over at once. Yet, I am barred from seeing any friends anymore until there is a vaccine or I am a grown up. This is the worst summer, what do I do? I feel like it is never going to end. |
Question: Why does my mum not feed me? Posted: 02 Jul 2020 10:47 AM PDT So I was asked to try a new dish I had never tried, which I tried and I did not like. I ate the rest of the dish, but left the new thing. My mum got mad and told me she wasn't going to feed me anymore. She hasn't made me food for weeks and I have to use my own pocket money to buy all of my meals. She feeds my siblings, who also didn't like the food that I had. She always excludes me from packed lunches on days out. I'm 15, and I eat everything I am given unless I really dislike it. This is honestly the full story, I just want to know what Im doing wrong. Thanks I wasn't clear enough. By "doesn't feed me" I also mean she won't even let me cook my own food, so yes, cooking my own food is what I would do, but I'm left to either get fast food, or not eat. Sorry for not including that. |
Posted: 02 Jul 2020 04:51 AM PDT How do I act? Do I go to the service? I don't know her husband and kids very much at all but don't want to look bad to my cousins and other siblings. |
Question: Should i tell my dad what happened to me? Posted: 02 Jul 2020 12:58 AM PDT i was sexually assaulted earlier this year (not raped) by my boyfriend and the only one who knows about it are my friends and my mom. i reported him to the police after finding out he assaulted and harassed so many other girls over the course of 2 years. i did it so they could get the peace and justice they deserve. i'm not very traumatized by it, but my mom feels like i shouldn't tell my dad. when my mom was my age (16), she was sexually assaulted outside her house and my grandpa blamed it on her. she's 56 now and she's still really hurt by that. she thinks my dad would do the same since he's pretty old-school and a male. i'm not as close with him as i am with my mom. she's my best friend while my dad is a huge *** authority figure in my eyes. i never told him i got a boyfriend, let alone liked someone. i'm a pretty empathetic person and i know he's really sensitive when it comes to family, so if i we're him and my child hid this from me, i would be extremely hurt. but there's also the possibility of him blaming everything on me and i would get emotionally scarred and scared to tell him anything again. what should i do? if i do tell him, what kind of things would i say? how would i even start that conversation? |
Question: I dont know how to escape my brother? Posted: 02 Jul 2020 12:55 AM PDT i honestly think he's a genuinely awful person. im 15 and live with my 3 siblings and my parents. my two other siblings and i get along normally. however my older brother hates me for no reason he knows i am sensitive to noises such as clicking, whistling and other mouth sounds, so whenever i am near he constantly makes these noises, and with online school im finding it hard to concentrate with them. the noises also rlly upset me idk why and my parents think im being pathetic so wont help with that issue. the other issue is he is really immature. he's 17 and doing medicine related A levels but he doesnt get up on a weekend until 2pm and on an online school day till 10:30 (his class starts at 9.) he's constantly grumpy and when he's not grumpy, his 'happy' mood is basically him being annoying, making the noises i hate and him not shutting up for hours. he steals and breaks my stuff - i have a door curtain which he constantly pulls down for stupid reasons, eg i use 'his' bathroom (even though it was renovated for me and him as we both sleep upstairs) or i tell him to stop making noise. today, he was mad at me after i shut his bedroom door because i couldn't concentrate on my work with him whistling and he got really pissed off. i later found out he hid my two £50 jackets in a bush in the garden. he denied it and we only found them thanks to my dog. i never wouldve gotten them back. this **** goes on and on. idk what to do. i cry everyday and cant deal w it. |
Question: Why does my mom get angry when I wish designer clothing for my birthday? Posted: 02 Jul 2020 12:44 AM PDT So to start this off, I am a 16 year old boy. Both of my parents are 37 and they both work. My mom has a decent salary but my has a way better one. I like clothes and I would like to wish some Hugo Boss, Gant and Tommy for my birthday. My dad was fine with it but my mom freaked out. I showed her one of the hoodies that I liked and she immediatky asked me what this hoodie for $200 does better than one for 80 bucks. I just told her that I liked it. Why is she like this? |
Question: I was raped by my DAD !! but I love my dad so I don't wanna say nun what should I do? Posted: 01 Jul 2020 11:52 PM PDT It was a Friday night and my mom had to work late so it was just me and my dad and my dad came in my room and started touching me and rubbing on me then he closed my door pulled his pants down and got on top of me and I remember crying but he had his hand on my mouth and when my mom came home he acted like nothing happened and every time my mom had to work late nights for a year he would do the same thing and he told meh not to tell but I love my dad so I didn't say, nun... What should I do and oh it was 2 years old ..? |
Question: I think my twin is delusional and might have a mental health problem. ? Posted: 01 Jul 2020 11:23 PM PDT My twin and I are 25 years old, I'm a female and he is a male. Just recently he went off on me about a comment I made on facebook. Yes it's very stupid. But my comment wasn't rude, hurtful or hateful in anyway. He laid in with name calling which is nothing new with him. What is concerning is how he remembers things and puts his actions and doings onto others. Don't get me wrong I love my brother but he is a very rude, ignorant, violent and law breaking individual and has a problem with drugs. He has damage my ear to the point I can barley hear out of it, he's violently attacked me pull knifes and guns out on me and others even as kids. You have to tip toe around him and watch every word you said. Just recently he talked about killing one of his disabled clients he takes care of. We didn't have the a golden spoon type of childhood our mother was a single women with four children and she struggled but we had a great life. But he doesn't seem to remember it, he truly believes he had a hard childhood full of abuse didn't have what he needed and everyone treated him like crap our mother wasn't there for him or took us anywhere to spend anytime with us. Most importantly everything he has done himself he says it was either me or one of my other siblings. All the violent acts he has done was never him but someone else. I don't know how to help him or what is wrong with him or if there is anything wrong with him or if he's just a bad person. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. |
Question: I'm 14 and my mom kicked me out of the house? Posted: 01 Jul 2020 10:24 PM PDT I'm 14 and got kicked out because i was smoking weed and snorting crack. She just kicked me out a few hours ago and i don't have no where to go! Does anybody have suggestions where i should go? There is a hotel close to our house and i might walk down there and stay there for a while. She kicked me out for 2 weeks by the way. So I'mma have to stay somewhere for 2 weeks. I really hope that the hotel down my house lets me get a room for 2 weeks. |
Question: Are you annoyed with people who have difficulty hearing? Posted: 01 Jul 2020 10:12 PM PDT My mom openly admits when presented with a number of different scenarios , she cannot understand whomever is speaking to her. ( Certain words or sentences) It can be a cashier at the grocery store whom she cannot understand.... Or a phone conversation with anyone else. She admits she has a problem , however won't take measures to address or correct the hearing problem. I'm personally very annoyed to the point where I go several weeks at a time without phoning or texting her or hanging out with her in person. |
Question: How to get my autistic parent to listen to me? Posted: 01 Jul 2020 09:41 PM PDT I'm 16, and my entire life my dad, who is 'high functioning' on the autism spectrum, has restricted me from the internet. He has all of my devices under lock and key, and it has been increasingly difficult to get things done, even things that he wants me to get done, as the years go on. I understand his concern, and did as a child, so I didn't start bringing anything up until recently, unless I got mad about specific things. As a teenager who is of the age of consent, I feel I should be allowed to have a phone with free access to the internet, or at least be able to download the apps that I want. The reason he's kept it locked up, he says, is because I haven't shown that I've responsible. I do what he asks, and still he says I'm not responsible. I get that he may not trust me for some reason, but he hasn't given me a chance to even show him that he can trust me with internet usage. I get they may not want me looking at inappropriate stuff, fine, the one time I had internet access as a teenager I did, and apparently that's a bad thing. But honestly you can't expect a kid to get through life without making mistakes, ya know? Anyway, the point is, Everytime I try to bring things up, he shuts down. He doesn't talk, doesn't respond, doesnt even acknowledge that I exist. I would just like him to listen to my wants and needs, and consider them, and give me the reasoning as to why my suggestions wouldn't work. But Everytime I try, nada. So how do I get him to listen to me? |
Question: When should I call my stepmom “mom”? Posted: 01 Jul 2020 09:30 PM PDT Ok, so the low down is that I was 11 when my mom died and 12 when my dad remarried my stepmom. Right now I'm 15 and I've called her by her first name since I was 11. I don't really view her as a mother figure because she values her own daughter over me and my siblings (which is understandable) and she really just ignores me half the time. She wants me to call her mom but I don't think I will ever be ready to. She also thinks that me not calling her mom inhibits my sister from calling her mom so that just adds a whole other level to this choice. I feel like I should call her mom but I really don't want to, I just want to graduate and get out of this house so I can live my life. Also, I don't hate my stepmom. She's nice sometimes but she's sorta like a moody teenager and idk when she loves me or when she just wants me to get out of her life. Honestly my life is just a side character in my stepmom and stepsisters life... so yeah |
Question: How do I get my Dad to stop grounding me for other people's mistakes? Posted: 01 Jul 2020 08:52 PM PDT For example, I am banned from going to see my cousins for the 4th of July because their mother divorced their father (my uncle). As a result I am banned from anything of my cousins' that their mother hosts even though they have asked me. I also was punished 3 years ago because an aunt on the other side of my family wrote an angry note about an uncle whose side my parents took. I am tired of being punished for other people's mistakes. My Dad has done this my whole life. What do I do? I am aged 14. |
Question: How do I deal with verbally abusive family members? Posted: 01 Jul 2020 08:19 PM PDT |
Posted: 01 Jul 2020 08:17 PM PDT My mother tells me that my other relatives don't care about me and that no one cares about me because I'm poor |
Question: I am at the lowest point of my life? Posted: 01 Jul 2020 07:15 PM PDT I don't know what to do. My relationship with my parents have never been solid. My dad was absent for half of my life because he lived in another country. We finally moved to the US to be with him and my parents divorced a few years after being reunited. I was an only child for a long while, with a brother when I was 7. Maybe it was my brother, or just my mom, but I stopped receiving the attention and love that I see all of my friends getting. As I grew older, my relationship with my mom became more and more distant. I have finally realized that she is a narcissist, and although I won't go into detail about it, I have several family members who would say the same. Recently, my family had a clash that resulted in me finally being kicked out (threatened many times before) at 18, a month before going to college. I have great friends that I have made through school and lacrosse, but they are now almost 30 minutes away because I have asked my dad to take me in. I have a little money, although that is not an issue just yet. I miss my "family" because I actually grew somewhat close to my stepdad. My brother has came with me to my dad's for a few days because we are very close, probably because Him and I spend literally all day everyday together when we were younger and my parents would leave us for work. I just want a good relationship with my family. I miss my bedroom. I miss my house. I know thst I am not the most unfortunate person, but I am so depressed right now. What can I do? |
