I'm the only one out of my family who has a license. Out of my friends, I'm the only one with a truck. People always ask me to give them rides, tow trailers, move stuff, come tow their car, etc and I usually do. Well my truck broke down, it's very easily fixable but I can't do it until payday. None of my family will loan me the cash, none of my friends will drive me to work. Nobody will help me in any way shape or form and most have acted highly offended that I even asked. The same people who don't wanna give me any gas for taking them places have told me that if I was better with money I wouldn't be in this situation and I need to "tough it out and save up." Obviously these people have been using me. How do I prevent it in the future?? Should I try to be friendly about it or is it okay to be rude to my own family that way?

My roommate graduated and brought a subletter to take her place. The girl has been here two months. Since the day she came, she refuses to acknowledge my existence. She didnt own much so she would use my things right in front of me while refusing to even respond to a hello. If i say hello she will glance at me and turn her back. I finally asked her to get her own dishes and what not. I tried leaving her nice messages and she throws them on the floor right where I can see it. I dont even have her cellphone number. Im afraid to ask. Heres where it gets wierd if someone is visiting, she starts talking to me as if we are friends. Then when they leave Im wallpaper again. I decided to move out when our lease ends. What could i do for now? Im afraid to go in the living room and kitchen anymore. I stay in my room with my cats until Im sure shes gone.

It came as a big shock when she said that I had been mean to her. I asked her can we meet in person for lunch or something to talk face to face and now she's refusing. She won't even face time with me. Have I been a horrible friend but just focused on the good things I've done and ignoring the bad? I don't know what to do as she won't talk to me and keeps saying in text let's move on. I value her a lot and want to be a better friend but she won't talk to me. What should I do?

Some of my friends have gotten or are getting married. I don t get wedding invites. These are friends from college. I took two medical leave in college because of a brain injury and this impacted my social life. I still keep up with most people even though I moved to NYC for grad school. I have it quite often that friends only expect me to go and visit them. Travel to their city, or their home to meet. Never half way. And never to my place. This costs me time (sometimes hours to travel) and money. Should I just accept that these arren't really friends? I'm tired of it.

It's impossible in my opinion and even if it were possible, who's to say I'd be the person everyone would want to be friends with... Reason that it's impossible is because 'most people' are not for example people at university or work but all people such as cashiers, the lady walking down the road, neighbors 3 houses away, the optician. Most people seem to only be able to make a handful of actual friends in the environment they most often frequent.

Hi, so I'm 22. My friend who is the same age as me I've known since I was 4. Within the past year and a half, my friend and her bf have hung out a lot with this group of people and they're all good friends. I have hung out with these people to quite a few times and think they're all really cool and get along with them well. My friend however used to invite me out when there's something going on with that group but for the past several months, the only time I've gotten an invite to hang out is when I text my friend asking what she's doing and then she tells me that the group is hanging out and that I'm more than welcome to come but she never just lets me know on her own. It's like I have to ask to get an invite and it makes me really sad. I've told my friend in the past that it'd be great when everyone is together if she could invite me to because I have a really good time with her and the group and she always says "sure no problem!" Well, she still doesn't invite me. I am a pretty likeable and fun person I think and I know the other people in the group like me but I still feel excluded by my friend. It's like she doesn't want me hanging out with them and I get sad when I see them all together on social media. I'm closest with her so for rn, If I want to hang with the group, I basically go through her because they are still more her friends than mine but still.
