Posted: 04 Jun 2018 12:56 PM PDT She sent my daughters and I an invitation to her party. I really want to go and let her know how proud I am of her, but the last thing I want is to cause a scene. My ex-husband is just the type to do it too. My step daughter made it perfectly clear that she wants me there to help her celebrate but I am very leary. Should my two daughters go (the 3 girls speak everyday and get along great) and give her my sentiments? Or should I just say screw it and go because I love my step daughter? The divorce was 2 years ago and I have had contact with my step daughter on and off, even going to dinner and luncheons with her. It's not her fault that her father and I could not make our marraige work. Thank you in aadvance for any advice! |
Question: My dad has a really bad temper? Posted: 04 Jun 2018 12:09 PM PDT so from time to time, my dad get super angry and violent. I would say that this happens every 6+ months. Today, my mom was cleaning the house and she threw away two of his belts that were old and he never wore (keep in mind my dad has about like 50+ belts... he hoards a lot of clothing). so, when he saw he got extremely mad and proceeded to throw away a bunch of things like chairs, plants, pots, pans, a lot of household items onto the porch. He tried to throw my school stuff and my moms laptop but my mom stopped him. His temper is usually fine but times like these I'm not really sure how he acts this way. Back in August, his last outburst was similar. My mom was looking for something in a drawer and my dad got mad at her and pulled the drawer out and dumped everything on the ground and then angrily left the house. I remember the first time when I was about 10, the day I got my first flip phone, my mom was asking him about the plan and he got mad so he flushed the phone down the toilet and then threw some stuff down the stairs. Any advice for my situation?? He is usually never like this but from time to time he will blow things way out of proportion and act out. |
Question: How can I tell my stepmom I love her? Posted: 04 Jun 2018 11:00 AM PDT I'm 20 so I don't live at home but she also moved out cause they got a divorce. Her and my dad don't keep in touch but me and her do . We hangout sometimes and we go out to eat. But I just don't know what to tell her |
Posted: 04 Jun 2018 10:34 AM PDT On my fireplace mantel, there is a school picture of me set next to a picture of my sister, and my diseased brothers picture. Mine is next to my brothers. One time, a while back while my dad and I were both sleeping, the picture fell off the mantle and shattered the glass. Yes, we have cats, but at this time they were all either sleeping with us or outside. And they are all little so they were unable to get up onto the mantle. I tried to convince myself that it was the cats until last night when I was at my friends house, it fell again. Of course there was no glass so it kind of just fell and all of my school pictures flew all over the floor. My parents just left them out until I came home to find them on the floor. My mom wasn't here the first time it happened, so she was very creeped out. But, does anyone know what it means? Mine is the ONLY one falling and it's just weird. And being the one next to my dead brothers picture makes it even creepier. So. Help. Please. |
Question: Does my female dentist like me? Posted: 04 Jun 2018 09:06 AM PDT She always asks about my life and smiles at me. I was leaving and asked her a question about my teeth and she walked over to me and leaned in really close almost kissing me so I blushed and caught her licking her lips while staring at me. I'm confused because I'm a girl and she's a tomboy. She's really cute and I like her but I'm not sure whether this means anything or not. |
Question: My dad called me a disappointment and i think i agree with him.? Posted: 04 Jun 2018 08:50 AM PDT I have never been good at school or anything for that matter. I'm an overall good kid and I am nice to everyone even if they're not to me. I started summer school because i failed my classes and i missed the 1st day of summer school because i was recovering from a stomach virus and now they wont let me make it up so now i have to redo all my classes next year and i guess get bullied by people in my grade for failing and On the way home from summer school today my dad said i was an embarrassment and a disappointment and that i should just drop out of school.. he said this out of no where. i told him nicely that i didn't want to drop out because i want to good and that i want to go to college and his reply was "smart people go to colloege. you're not smart. you're not gonna make it" i didn't reply i just sat there and waited until we got home . my heart has never felt so broken in my life. All i ever wanna do is make my parents proud of me somehow but i never can and i never will. This isn't a question i guess i just needed to vent. |
Question: Why is he acting like this? Posted: 04 Jun 2018 08:45 AM PDT We broke up and when I tried going back(6 months ago) he said he wouldn't forgive me for saying something about his mom when he said something to mine first(idiotic).I didn't chase him. We ran into eachother one day i expected him to ignore but he smiled and said hi.Now he keeps looking at me, making eye contact and i caught him looking at me sneakily through the door crack. He's started coming out about the same time as I do and he said hi hesitantly and smiling. Few Sundays ago I was going down the stairs and he was behind me. He was "on the phone" saying he was leaving church and would call back which wasn't necessary since church was already over. I feel like he did it so I'd know he was behind me. We walked next to eachother he smiled and said how are you. We had a few exchanges and I asked him about his sick brother. The following week he didnt show himself inside church(he's a deacon) as I was leaving he was behind me going down the stairs. I turned around just saw a glimpse of him and turned back around didn't say hi. He would look to lock eyes with me and smile when we'd be close now even though throughout church he keeps staring but lately he doesn't smile anymore and doesn't come to pass near me to smile. If he was crazy about me could his feelings be returning? Why isn't he making a move though? If he had feelings could he hold back for that long? |
Question: Why did she lick her lips after leaning in? Posted: 04 Jun 2018 08:26 AM PDT I was at the dentist and she was inspecting my braces. She told me to stand up and I asked her a question about my teeth and she leaned in really close to my face she looked at me and then licked her lips staring at me. Does she like me or was she just being friendly? She extended my appointment time by two extra visits. |
Question: Why didnt my professor drop me from class? Posted: 04 Jun 2018 07:38 AM PDT Like it stated if I was late more than three times or absent the professor will drop me from class. I was absent for 1-2 classes and late two times. Yet I got an A on an exam and I participate and do my work on time. So, Why didnt my professor drop me from class? |
Posted: 04 Jun 2018 05:07 AM PDT My stepbrother has been acting weird lately, he comes home late and basically just locks himself in his room all day. Only comes out to eat, or when his friends come pick him up. I told my step-mom (His mother) and she told me not to worry about it. But the thing is the other day he was doing his laundry and he was crying. I asked him is he was ok he replied that everything was perfect but he sounded extremely sarcastic. He is sneaking out of the house very late at night sometimes and then comes like at 5 in the morning before anyone at home wakes up. I've been doing my research, I might be stalking him but the truth is I'm worried about him. He was usually happy and laughing all the time and spend a lot of time with us. Then all the sudden it was like this person I know is no longer with us. He looks kind of sick, he has lost color I swear. How can I help him, do I approach to him or should I tell my dad? |
Question: If my dads abusive and my mother isn't, what will happen? Posted: 04 Jun 2018 03:19 AM PDT Will the state give my mother money to live with me and my 5 siblings and force my dad away from us or will we be given to a foster home? (PA) |
Question: What Do I Do When My Sister Tries To Make Me Feel Bad About Myself? Posted: 04 Jun 2018 02:40 AM PDT I'm 16 and my sister always makes these comments in front of my family, such as, "Why don't you ever take your makeup off?" I don't wear a lot of makeup I just use it to fill in my eyebrows. The fact that she says it in front of my whole family basically states her intention. She always makes fun of me by telling me she's going to walk in on me after I take a shower to see my "real face." My dad also jokes about this too. He says I shouldn't get the iPhone X because it's not going to recognize me without my makeup. My worst insecurity is my eyebrows, I plucked them out when I was 12 and now they're patchy and sparse so I fill them in everyday. How do I get them to stop? |
Posted: 04 Jun 2018 02:17 AM PDT My sister works at McDonald's. Sad to say. |
Question: I need help processing this; please give advice.? Posted: 04 Jun 2018 12:01 AM PDT I'm a 19 year old girl about to enter my 2nd year in college. I have a step-dad who has been my step dad for 13 years now. The other night my family and I were at their friend's house drinking (I know I am underage, but that not the point). Afterwards, we walked back home and I fell asleep on the couch. I was half awake shooing hands away from me. I thought my mom might have drunkingly decided to cuddle me, but I finally turned around and saw it was my step-dad. I immediately got up and went to the family room and tried to sleep in the couch in there. He came in a couple minutes later and sat down on the couch and asked if I was okay and patted my back, but ended up laying down again and tried to put his arm around me, but I fought it off and then went up to my mom's room to sleep in her bed. I'm really confused and don't know what to think of this. I can't stop thinking about it with out feeling sick to my stomach. He has never showed any signs that have made me uncomfortable before. When everyone was awake the next morning he said that he didn't remember walking home last night. I've been trying to justify this the entire time. We're not very affectionate with each other like that. I haven't talked to anyone about it because I'm scared and I don't want anything bad to happen. Please help me. I need advice. |
Question: Is it control or narcissism? Posted: 03 Jun 2018 11:58 PM PDT So recently my mother has taken all of my money out of my savings account and transferred it into a savings account that I can not see that Is connected to her bank account. She also told me that if I wanted to do a sport that I love, then I would have to pay for it by myself in order for me to do it. She does this with a lot of things. She wouldn't let me have an instagram or a snapchat either, but I ended up getting them and i've only just mentioned it this year. I have a sense of humour and I like to have the odd joke every now and then but whenever I do have a wee joke with my mother, she looses her nut. I tell her i'm kidding but she yells at me and it is horrible. I feel like I can't do anything wrong. Like she wont even let me drink energy drinks. I am 18 and I do have ADHD, but like, I'm not a child. She also speaks for me a lot. Whenever my nana asks a question about me, instead of asking me, she would ask my mother or my mother would say "Oh she wouldn't like that" when I am sitting in the same room. I am not sure what it is but I am starting to feel down. I have recently ended shared care with my dad because living there with my step mother was horrible, and I have had both parents talking about each other in nasty ways all my life. My dad does often mention the words "Control" and "narcissism" a lot. Can this also impact on my mental health too? |
Question: Bad father or no father at all ? Posted: 03 Jun 2018 09:12 PM PDT WOuld u rather have a bad father or no father at all ? I had a bad father, he was horrible, didnt care about me n did many terrible things to me in my life. He basically ruined my life. I had plans for my life but just to many family problems got in the way. Im just trying to rebuild now. IF it was up to me, i think my life would have turned out better without a father. |
Question: Can you marry your uncle ? Posted: 03 Jun 2018 08:09 PM PDT My sister is pregnant with our uncle's baby she wants to marry him she's madly in love with him they been dating for a while she's 19 he's 40 he's got a son from a previous marriage. Can she marry him ? |
Posted: 03 Jun 2018 08:04 PM PDT I know I sound selfish just by saying it but I'm really afraid of being judged by my family members from overseas. Since their culture is different from some customs in the west, I'm afraid that some of my habits will be judged. I'm a teenager and I feel like my privacy would also be invaded since a large group would be coming over to stay in our relatively small house. An extra person would also be staying in a room that I am already forced to share with my younger brother...which will make things even more awkward for me. I told my parents that I would try to respect our family...but I feel like my excitement for them coming over has now demoted itself to anxiety. I really don't know how to deal with this whole situation. I don't necessarily need an answer...but if anyone has had a similar situation that has occurred to them in the past or recently, I would read about it; it'd surely help me feel less lonely. |
Question: How to deal with my mom? Posted: 03 Jun 2018 06:42 PM PDT My mom is an overall wonderful person. I love her lots. But, recently she's been very stressed over little things and she yells literally every day, sometimes multiple tones in a day. She also forces me to do stuff I don't like all the time, and she doesn't accept who I am and what I like to do. What's worse is when I try to leave the house to hang out with friends (primarily to escape), she gets even angrier. I'm responsible an patient and understanding despite being 15 years old. I know everyone has mom troubles at this age, but honestly I can't take it anymore. Please help! |
Question: Why does my dad get so mad? Posted: 03 Jun 2018 05:47 PM PDT My dad and I have never been close and probably will never be close. Im turning 18 in august and want to start looking into moving out. I was talking to my mom about this and he overheard and lost his mind. He started yelling at me me saying I'm threatening him and that if i leave never to talk to him or the family again. He said I was a terrible son. I felt like I did something wrong. I told him I was almost 18 and that all 18 year olds want to move out at some point but he wouldn't listen and now he is in his room yelling room things.. What do i do? How can i get through to him that i just want to be independent? |
