Amanda and I, along with some other people were all friends and talk about school, talked about the latest TV shows etc. Skip a year me and Amanda are in the same classes again. Great right? Except as the school year progresses I get really annoyed with her not only does she complain about every little thing and insults me a lot, she only talks to me when it is convenient (when she doesn't know anyone else, when I have something she wants gum/food/money when I can get her out of class) I am done with being her friend. I don't like being used insulted and hear her constant negativity. Amanda is with me all the time in every class but Science and Study Hall. I became worried and clingy about our friendship, scared that we might drift apart. She eventually got tired of it. She told me that we had to distance and that there was no other option. I tried my best to change her mind but she didn't budge. We ended up agreeing to not talk for a few days; I agreed eventually that this relationship wasn't healthy and that not talking for a few days would make me emotionally detach from her. She told me that once we ended this break (when she texts me), we would probably talk every few days and see how it goes from there. Did I lose this close friendship with her forever? I want to have what we used to have back after this break, because I know that having that back, minus my emotionally clinginess, would be the best thing in the world. So here are some things to know before we start: - My Friend is 14 - She lives in Minnesota, which is nowhere near where I live. - She can t find any adults she can trust, because seems like every single one of them she knows is corrupt. So anyway... My friend has parents who - Call her mean names (fat, stupid, ugly, etc.) - Ignore the fact that depression is a disease. - Disregard her physical pain and force her to do work when she s in pain. - Punish her for very very very vague reasons, not even telling her her mistake, if any. - Have the entire family gang up on her. The best solution I can think of would be for me to be there for her and comfort her. The thing is, though, when her parents take her phone and computer away for no reason (and they legitimately do that, that is not an exaggeration, they don t give a specific reason and want an excuse to punish her, so they don t want her to know her mistake, if any at all), I have no way to communicate with her. How can this be stopped once and for all? |

I'm working part time at the moment until I find full time work. I have a "small" group of friends from high school who I've been associating with but they are not nice to me, lie to me, talk about each other behind each other's backs, exclude me from things & basically treat me like sh*t. After being treated poorly for the past 4 months since moving home I've decided to disassociate myself with them. I live in an area where there is no real social events (believe me) I've tried very hard to find events in my town & everything appears to be 2 hours + away in the city. Ive joined a gym with no luck thus far meeting anyone as well as a church but they don't offer bible studies or any type of programs for adults just young children & high school students. My job is in a lab & I work alone in the evenings so I have no opportunities to meet people via work either. Plus I have very little spending money to do much of anything with. Our town doesn't even have a "downtown" to walk around in nor does it have dog parks or regular parks for that matter. The closest one is 45 min away. I'm not sure what to do my mom seems to think it'd be a good idea to reach out to the group of "friends" who exclude me often & treat me terrible just to have people to hang out with at times. What are your thoughts on this? Should I allow myself to be treated like sh*t just to have SOMEBODY to hang out with?? |

I am in 8th grade, and I get mostly As and 0-4 Bs. Last year, in 7th grade, I got suspended because me and a kid argued in the bathroom, and he punched me in the face repeatedly, and I couldn t block his punches, so I tried to get out of the bathroom, and he tried to stop me, but tripped and fell on his nose, and it bled. When I came out of the bathroom, a kid saw me with bruises on my face, and then the boy who punched me came out of the bathroom too, and the boy saw that the boy had a bloody nose, so he assumed we were fighting, so he told 2 friends that we fought. Then those 2 friends were spreading the rumor until a teacher heard, and called my administrator. I had PAC (Positive Action Center) the rest of the day, (which is basically a room you go to when you get a referral) and so did he. I was then suspended from school on Monday, since I was beat up on a Friday. Now in 8th grade, yesterday, on April Fools day, a boy was being mean to me and I told him to stop and he wouldn t stop, so I spit at him, and now I have to go to the PAC room on Monday and stay there the whole day. Those referrals are in my record, and I know that I will still be able to go to college if I don t get suspended anymore, and keep my good grades, but I am worried about high school. If people keep messing with me, I won t be able to go to college. How can I protect myself against people like this? |

We have been friends for 4 years and do everything together, and im also very close to their boyfriends, in a platonic way. 4 years ago I came to the US for med school from India. I tutored these 2 undergrad girls(who were 20 at the time), and we became close friends. They introduced me to their boyfriends(who were in the army at the time) and I got along with their group, and they made me feel welcome. Since then we became good friends.For starters i feel awkward as a fifth wheel, around them and I am still a virgin(not by choice). I am also 4 years older than mary, jane and both their boyfriends. On top of that, They all are born and raised in the US and I am from India and have a thick Indian accent. The final reason is that physically stand out, from the group and feel like the ugly single one in group. I am 6'4 chubby weighing 250 pounds, dark skinned indian(think minday kaling but a foot taller.) Jane is 5'8 white, with dark hair, tanned skin, medium build(not skinny but not thick or chubby). Mary is Asian 5'8 with similar build to jane(both with volleyball player type bodies). Janes boyfriend is light blonde, and Mary's boyfriend is a redhead(not ginger)boyfriends are both 5'6 each, lean(slimmer than their girlfriends), but ripped with defined muscles and a both have six pacs. Weve had many great memories together, and i enjoy spending time with them. Dont tell me to make new friends I have other friends. Of all my friend groups I feel closest to this one, and they feel that way about me. They made me feel at home when I first came to this country and have always been there for me Even though I love them, I feel awkward being the giant chubby woman, who 5th wheels 2 attractive couples. |

I can't even begin to imagine what that must be like,to turn off life support of his own son,especially a teenager son. It makes me cry as I type. However sometimes this guy,Tom,who's been my neighbor and friend for over a decade,behaves like an a**. For instance: I asked him the other day if he would've come with his wife and my wife and I to have a night out for dinner. He said yes,the he didn't show up to the restaurant,he didn't call. Some other time he didn't answer my texts or he just did when he needed something from me. Most of the times I end up kinda "forgiving him" just because I think of what he went thru,but I've come to realize I can't do it all the times. I'm really really sorry he lost his son. I don't have words to describe how sorry I am for him but my wife suggested me that I can't forgive him all the time because of that. What do you think? I'm just tired, burnt out. I was invited to go on spring break with my friend in Florida and I asked my mom and she said I could go. but I had to get all this stuff done. I was doing really well. and then one day I said "f**k" in a text I sent my friend and my friend's mom saw it. my friend's mom never told my mom but still. I never told my mom and my friend's mom never called or talked to my mom. now I can't go on spring break because their plans changed but my mom thinks there's more I, not telling her (which I am but I can't tell her what I'm hiding so) please help. and don't give dumb answers like "just tell her the truth" I need actual cover up stories |

My lunch money is stolen from my bag everyday, I find my books ripped apart in the hallways, and sometimes people would take pics of me in the bathroom and post it on facebook. I told my dad ( my mom passed away 2 months ago and people in school told me that I should kill myself just so we can be together). I once found some bleach in my locker and people told me to drink it and die like Amanda Todd. I don't want to kill myself but I am going through hell right now. My grades are low cause all of my books we're stolen so I cannot study. I literally have no future. Please help me cause I don't know what to do. I'm crying so much right now it just hurts so much |

| Question: How do I get invited to these hangouts with my friends? Posted: 02 Apr 2016 11:54 AM PDT So I'm in a 10 girl, the supposedly "popular" friend group in middle school. Some of my friends are on the same bus with most of the "popular" boys in our grade who are also in a friend group. Well anyway, since they're in the same neighborhood, both friend groups always hangout as one friend group. They play games, go on their trampolines, etc. I heard it's a ton of fun. I feel left out since one of the popular boys used to live on my street, we'll call him K, and have their friends over and they would hangout with me and my friends at my house. But he moved a neighborhood over so they never hang with me anymore. To be fair, I am a newer friend in my group, since I only became friends with them a year ago and from the other school (the two elementary schools merge together in middle school). Yet K is from my elementary school but is still invited? Please help I really want to be invited and I'm very close to two of the girls that are invited. How do I become invited? Whenever I made close friends they would ditch me for popular kids who bullied me for being nerdy & chubby, though I lost weight when I was 13. I haven't had a close friend in 3 yrs now & I'm quite lonely. I think my self esteem is the problem. I always assume others hate me & nobody will ever want to be my friend. Part of me wonders why anyone would want to be my friend as I think I'm weird/boring. I fear I bother others with my presence so I don't really try. How can I fix this? I'm 17 btw x |

We were best friends in first year of university but our relation got really messed up due to another friend of her in the second year then pushed me away from the start of third year. I was willing to get hurt with stepping away from her but multiple occasions made me really confused if she still wants me as a friend like getting really sad when I stepped out of a conversation when she joined it. Currently, I'm going to fix it. I need to. It's affecting my grades, my activity, my body and my psychological state. At first, it was appropriate. They were reacting to the MC being married to another guy, than it became inappropriate. I don't want to get graphic but basically the MC fainted due to hunger and the guy's reaction was to um . . . get busy with her at work. That's not what I was looking for and I didn't mean to see it and I feel SO guilty even though it was accidental. I feel dirty and I don't know how to tell my dad and mom that it was accidental. And they occasionally check my phone (like the sites I've been to; I'm totally okay with them checking it) and they mentioned they're going to check it in a few days. I need to tell them but don't know how and I feel so dirty and guilty inside even though it was a mistake! Please help and tell me how to tell my parents! |

We would always chat on whatsapp, talking about life, school, and stuff. But back in August, we suddenly stopped texting. But he is still pretty nice to me since I wished him a merry Christmas and happy Chinese New Year. But we stopped talking again and now I really miss him. We even barely talk on school breaks. I don't know what I did wrong? He's like my best friend since December 2014 and I've already said hi to him recently but he hasn't replied to me yet. He still views my snapchat stories and likes my Instagram pictures. Before you call him a pervert, we snapchatted all the time and he has like 100 photos of him on Instagram. I also have his skype. |
