Thinking people won't understand the circumstances that made me do certain things. I was very mentally ill for two years and made some very poor decisions. Music has played a big part in my recovery and helping me see who I am and giving me a sense of purpose I didn't have before. What if I do get to be successful and my past is exposed. I have family that I've always gone to for Christmas. However, the family member hosting has literally 10 dogs, and it sets off my allergies and they jump and bark. (Inside dogs). We walk over pee pads everywhere. One family member got severely bitten by one dog last year. The family hasn't even called me with any details yet about what time to arrive on Christmas or to see if we even are coming. I mean, we have always been the ones to call the hostess to see what time to come and what to bring if anything. I feel like a scrooge. I don't know what to do, to go or not, or what to say... I'm just sitting here, twiddling my thumbs in anxiety.

I'm a 17-year old boy, and I have two younger sisters (16 and 14). They love having their backs scratched, and always want me to do it for them. Like if we're watching a Netflix movie or something, one of them will sit next to me on the couch, and she'll ask me to scratch her back and cuddle her. After a while, she'll get up, and my other sister will do the same thing. They take turns doing that. I don't mind at all. I used to do the same for them about 10 years ago when we were little kids.

I'm 16, working a part-time in Best buy. But i have this issue with my mom, she won't let me spend my hard-earned money the way I WANT. EX - She refuse to let me take an MMA class, because it's too "violent"... Yet, she's the first to want to sign me to a sport like basketball. Which I hate. I also used to play football, I truly enjoyed it, and was good at it. She also took me out of it.Today, she didn't let me go to a barber to get my own haircut, as I hate the way she cuts it. When I ask her why I cant go, her answer was "bad weather"... But it isn't even that bad, it's just snowing, that's it. And besides, I could just take the bus. Also, her plan was set since my day of birth. Of me becoming a "surgeon", you heard it. Something I don't enjoy. When I told her that, she got mad and started yelling at me face. She also believes that I should support her when I get older with a good paying job. At one point, I was interested in the military, she shut it off quickly. "Join the military, you're not staying here anymore. We dont need people like you here" What should I do?

I grew up without father figures in my life. I have a step-dad and a dad. My real dad was never really interested in my younger brother and i as he was in my two older siblings and my step dad ended up molesting me when I was 14. I think it really has affected  me more than I'd like to admit. I see girls at school who have positive relationships with their fathers and it makes me sad. I think it kind of gave me a tainted view of men as a whole as well. I know not all men are the same and i tell myself that all the time but I feel bitter towards them. Which i know will only lead to more problems later on in life. I think it also has affected my self esteem because i find myself swooning over any guy who gives me the slightest bit of attention. I also find myself looking for attention from older men as well on social media. It makes me feel better temporarily but sometimes that's all i really need to feel good for an hour or two. I don't know. Maybe none of this is related to having "daddy issues" but i just feel kinda pathetic. Like that i have to rely on someone's opinions on me to make me feel good about myself. I think really low about myself and i hate it. I don't want to live like this. People tell me i should learn "self-love" but how does one do that when you've hated yourself since a young age? I'm honestly just ranting now and don't necessarily have a specific question to ask. I'm starting to think this is all me and I'm looking for people to blame.

Currently share a lease with my fiancé, and his younger sister, all in our late 20's. It has not gone well. She doesn't clean up after herself, and will wait days before washing a pan, causing tension. We all switch off every week ie. taking out trash/recycling, vacuuming. She doesn't do them until we have to remind her, and take it as us ganging up on her. She'll complain to her mom that we're being mean. Growing up her mom wound up doing her chores for her because she got tired of waiting/asking. Recently I suffered a miscarriage on my birthday. My fiance's sister told me how sorry she was, and if there was anything I needed to let her know. Then two days later she accused me of opening, and drinking some of her wine. Instead of saying, "Did you open my wine?" I was met with, "Can you replace the bottle of wine that you opened?" in a very annoyed/rude tone. The bottle was in fact a bottle I had bought for my mom when she stayed over night. The accusation, and the fact that I had just lost my baby really upsetted me. Days later I told her how how I felt, and then found out that she had forgotten that her, and a friend had drank the bottle of her wine. Never did she apologize to me when she came to that realization, and only said sorry when I expressed to her how she had made me feel. It didn't seem genuine, and I'm still quite upset that she would do that after everything I had been through that week. I just don't want to be around her, and don't know if I even like her.

Issue is that they lend him the car when he needs a ride to pick his child up but the day i got pregnant they didnt want to help me. they told me to abort because my boyfriend just parties and doesnt do anything. which is true but i wish i had parents that will help me out even if i didnt have a degree or boyfriend to help. they tried to talk my brother out of also having a baby but he didnt budge and kept it a secret until the lady was about to pop. now that he does have it and they were right about them not lasting, they lend him their car since he doesnt have one to go pick the child up on the weekends. But Im pissed because hes getting spepcial privalges that i didnt get. and my mom wants me to drive her around when he has it !!! So I told her remember how you didnt help me when i was pregnant? well now wait till your car comes again. And we don't chill. Im a right about this? Because even if I had a baby, my mom would NEVER lend me her car like she does to my brother even though she tried to talk him out of having a baby too. I offered to bring a gift by but they had vague excuses. One aunt said sure but bring it Friday as everyone is coming over on Christmas Eve and we'll be busy. Everyone was her siblings and their kids. I took the gift over last night hoping she'd invite me Christmas Eve but did not. If you don't remember me, my Mom committed suicide a number of years ago and was never close to her family. Now they do not welcome me despite my outreach. They are cordial and not mean, but never include me. I made reference that we were doing nothing in particular Christmas and even then did not get an invite (sometimes I think maybe they think I am busy with my Dad and his family). So while I will be with my Dad and some of his family it never takes away the rejection hurt I feel from my Mom's family. I feel I am 2nd rate and missing out as everyone else is real close and gets together once a month on average. Weddings are the only event I am invited to. The two years they did include me was so joyful that I miss it. Then my grandmother died and they stopped including me again. So how do I distract myself over Christmas from this hurt so I can still enjoy my day? It opens all my hurt feelings about my Mom's suicide and guilt I feel as I have anxiety and was a hyper and stressful kid and so feel her family blames me. I hate this time of year because of this.

Today I went to the city to meet a friend which my mum was fine with and she approved and all. I didnt think id stay as long as I did, either way she'd be fine with it, but i stayed until 5pm when she called me and told me i needed to be home by 5 because we were going to the beach which she said she told me last night, which I dont recall at all, like thats just an honest mistake if I did forget. And she was like half asleep last night when I told her I was going to the city and when she supposedly told me we were going to the beach. I ll be 17 in about 2 weeks. I m a white female and my boyfriend is biracial. His father is black and his mother is white. My parents finally know about him but want us to break up. They say that he ll be a disgrace to my family and that I m a disappointment. If I stay with him a majority of my family will shun me. They also say that if I don t break up with him they re going to switch my school for my senior year of high school. So just now I lost my phone and I got overly angry for it. Okay fair enough, I got too angry and blew up. But later when my mother brought it back up (she looked pissed still), I told her and I quote "I'm still feeling very angry right now. Please don't talk to me or else I might get even angrier" As I knew how far my anger issues could go. But instead of letting the issue go for me to cool off, she just got even MORE mad at me and yelled at how I need more sleep and how she'd take away my devices (even though she can't really. I need them to do homework). She continued for a solid 20 minutes or so, with me getting more annoyed and pissed off until I eventually just told her to get the f8ck out of my room. She did as I'm much more physically able than her, but how could my mom be this dense when I gave her 5+ warnings on how she's pushing my limits? And worse, my BROTHER brought this up later and said how this was all my fault that mom was angry at me, and still blamed me even though I LITERALLY WARNED HER that I was going to blow up should she continue and refused to hear my side of the story COMPLETELY. The heck should I do? Everyone is emotionally inept as my brother thinks the emotion "Anger" can apparently be just turned off with a flick of the switch and my mother is arguably even more angry than me normally! She got angry at me and yelled, waking up the whole house when I stayed up until 1 AM to do homework (I've started at 8PM FYI). I was also extremely silent.

i'm a twin, i'm a girl and my twin is a boy. we're 19, almost 20. my brother's always been the complete opposite of me. i'm an introvert, and he's an extrovert. throughout high school, he was really popular, always hanging out with friends, etc., while i wasn't very popular, only had a few friends, and always sat at home haha. about a month after we graduated high school, my brother moved out of my parent's house and into a house nearby with several of his friends. he goes to our community college (we both do). up until a few weeks ago, my brother was the same as he was in high school. he was always hanging out with friends, going to parties, going on dates, etc. then, a few weeks ago, he randomly moved back home and said it was because his friends were doing nothing but do drugs and party and he was sick of it. ever since then, he's basically been home during all of his free time. when he's not working or at school, he sits at home. it's like he's turning into me. he doesn't seem depressed or anything, he's happy for the most part, but he's a little more irritable than usual. the weirdest thing is, this all happened within like a month. he instantly went from being this popular guy with several friends who lives in a party house to moving back home and being a homebody like me. he almost never hangs out with friends or goes out anymore. he had like 80 friends and now it's like they've all just disappeared. do you think something happened or something....?

So i have a 15 year old step daughter, her and my husband moved to where we currently are to be by my kids. Her real mom is a drug addicted who goes years without seeing her, and she never really sees her siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles much. It's been over a year since she's seen them. They're over a day away. And we don't have money to send her to see them. And they won't help pay for her to see them. It's been about 3 years since she's had a xmas with them. She's being all depressed over nothing! They clearly don't want to see her, if they did they'd reply to us whenever we try to contact them. It's annoying when she shuts herself up on her room. i work in construction i have a friend who told me about the job and told me where to apply but thats it he could of helped me more but anyways we work tpgether and he drives to my house than we leave together in my car . its been happening for 2 months now. when he rides my car he demands everything. he plays his music in my car eats my gum without asking. today him and i were picking up a large piece of wood and he roughly pulled it caused me to hirt my fingers and i was like hey bro you need to tell me how you gonna grab it because you just pulled it, than he told me watch your mouth and trew the wood that almost hit my foot and said he was gonna hit me in the mouth. am a really cool guy i helped him by giving him a ride for about 2 months now because i mean he told me about the job position but he has never even said hey heres gas money or something. is like he uses me because he even wants me to pick him up to go clubbing and never say hey heres some gas money. he apologized but i told him he was not going to ride with me anymore, i know he may be apologizing just because he doesnt have a way to get home. some guy who gave him a ride before told me he slapped him while he was riding with him just because he told him to stop messing with this guy who was also riding with them. what do you guys think? is it okay that i told him he cant ride with me nomor?

My sister in law and her family - 4 total - often will visit us after Xmas - never quite knowing when they will arrive, and never quite knowing when they will depart. One year they said they were staying 3 days and it turned into 7. The only reason they finally left then is because we were leaving town ourselves. They are always dead broke, which means we can't go out to eat at all because they can't afford it. That leaves my wife preparing 3 meals per day every day. My brother in law is LAZY. He will sleep all day, coming downstairs only for meals. And they eat us out of house and home - cereal, snacks, milk, meat - you name it. Meanwhile my wife isn't about to say anything. I'm thinking about leaving town for a week to avoid the whole mess. What's the answer here?

Well anyways he is going to wait for his step son which is also my brother to get some days off so they can go. But my dad won't do that with me. Because he says he doesn't want to have to wait. If I try to tell him about how it makes me feel and that he will get mad at me and yell on top of his lungs at me too and tell me to drop it. He won't do anything with me like ever. He never really spends money on me either. Except like 5 dollars or less. If it is 5 dollars I am lucky. But that is not very damn much. I can't even get him to take me to the store that is like 1 mile away. Because he says it is too far. Also he told me onetime that he will do things with me only when he wants too. Makes me so sad. I feel like my dad doesn't love me. I was having the symptoms of panic attacks back when he said we were all going because I thought he just said just him and my brother are going. Makes me so sad. He tells me that we are gonna go do things and never happens. I had to go to the hospital because I was having the symptoms of panic attacks for 2 or 3 days in a row. I didn't stay the night at the hospital though.

As you saw im 17 years old and I want to live with my father. He isn't in my life right now he just pays child support and that's all the reason I want to live with him is because me and my mom aren't getting along and here's why ive had a bf of two years and shes always hated him I don't know why shes spoken to his mom and they get along fine but when it comes to him she hates him and tries to separate me from him shes very controlling she knows im sexually active and wont even let me get birth control so if I get pregnant I have to have the baby because she also wont let me get an abortion . Another thing is his mom loves me and doesn't mind me coming over for a couple of days and spending time over the past year his family and I have gotten very close but I wouldn't want to burden them by asking to stay there because I don't to involve them into this , but yes she always get very angry when I ask to see him yes in the past I used to run off and see him when she found out we made an agreement to where I ask her and so I started asking her ans she yet still has a problem she always tries to make excuses like im failing school and im not or your living here so you have to listen to me which is unfair I go to my bf house and I have the most fun but when im home I literally do nothing at all ! I cant go outside because its bad neighborhood and I cant have friends without her judging them i know living with my dad isn't a guarantee but its worth a try i just need any tips

There is actually a solid reason for this question. My debit card is on my fathers account and I want to buy a subscription for white pages. My father has always had a terrible relationship with his father and I want to know if my fathers father has a criminal record. It would be best if he didn't know I was buying a subscription to white pages. Thanks.

In my situation I have lived with my grandmother for almost my whole life I wanted to know how can I take my mother for custody? I am 16 years old an im sick an tired of my mother.. she sits at her house an talks **** on my real father who has passed away but collecting my death benefit check while im living with my grandmother i do not get any type of support money from her.. how can i change that?

A relative who is diabetic and who will not adhere to checking her blood sugar daily and will not eat healthy herself , keeps telling me ( a grown adult ) how I should or should not eat. It upsets me how to be told to live my life. I make my own decisions. She does not buy my groceries, or cook my meals , or wash my dirty dishes .....So she needs to stay out of it !

I'm a 15 year old girl! I'm literally old enough I've seen 9 year olds wearing makeup nowadays but I'm still not aloud to wear it ugh! I was at my bffs house and she wanted to do my makeup so I agreed my dad picked me up saw face started yelling at me then at my best friends mom for allowing it when we got home he made me wash it right off which was really freaking hard because I had to use soap and water. I'm literally crying right now it's not fair he doesn't treat my brothers like baby's only me and it's getting on my nerves! All the girls at my school wear makeup except me, oh and also he won't let me paint my nails either:( How do I make him stop treating me like such a kid? hi all. I m a 33 yr old married female. for the past 3 yrs ive been helping my dad taking care of my stroke bedridden mother who only has Medicare. my 3 siblings don t really help. 2 moved out of state. my younger brother comes 1x a week to help. would rather get high. my dad & I went & applied for Medicaid but was turned down. my parents were always poor but after my grandma died 4 yrs ago her house went to her kids. my dad got a portion abt 60k. medicare does not help with nurse aids. I m 8 weeks pregnant. I feel depressed over trying to start my life but practically living in 2 houses. when we applied for Medicaid they told us my dad has to give up 50k in order to be approved. he refuses to do so. so we pay out of our own pockets for help. my siblings don t help with paying the caregivers. I ve been helping but can t afford it anymore. my acct is constantly negative & we need to save & move to a bigger apt before this baby comes. my dad & i argue over it should be me helping him more over my brother because he is immature but also says he wants us around to keep him company. I feel so depressed that we can t get help. my mom s doctor did a house visit & told us to try an elderly lawyer but my dad refuses saying he will only waste 10k it won t help. do I have any option here? My mother cant speak so they can t divorce. I feel angry at her for not taking care of her self. she used to drink a lot before getting sick. maybe depression. any advice would help greatly. state NJ

My daughter is 15, and so is her friend. I saw scars on her friend's arms... they're pretty bad. Her arms are all puffy and weird looking. They weren't cuts, only scars. They've been friends for over a year and seem to get along well. They joke around often, mainly hang out during school. I told her that her friend is a bad influence on her.. but she said " she's really nice and is helping me stop hurting myself!" She told me her friend is very shy, sensitive, funny, is an artist, etc.. But what if she's lying?! Is she a bad influence on my daughter? Would you let your daughter hang out with someone who has a history of self harm? What should I Do?

Anytime my mom and I get in an argument my whole family teams up against me. my mom was being really annoying and i yelled at her. And she kept going so i told her to F off. And then my 36 y/o brother legit grabbed my arm and made me sit on a stair for like 15 minutes. And the stairs are connected to the living room where my family were all sitting. And my 29 y/o brother was like have you learned your lesson now and I was flipped out and was like "learned a lesson??? I'm 16 I don't need to sit on a stair. Then he said go in the corner and it sounds like a joke but he was serious and I had to stand in the corner for 30 minutes. Like wtf. IS THIS ABUSE??????

I feel so alone right now. My mom s boyfriend came to me one night and asked me for a hug but I said no. I m only twelve and I don t think that he meant it in a bad way. I wrote it down in a diary and my mother found my diary. I feel like she and my sister are blaming me for what happened. It s not that serious. My mom said that she s going to tell him fhat I was writing a story and that it s not true. I m thinking if I should kill myself so all of this pressure can be over.

I'm still in disbelief. I heard the teenager talking to her mom and yes she was being a brat tlaking back. The brother told her to stop. Then a little later the girl say something again and it looked like the mother was going to cry. And the brother said "this is your last warning STOP IT". Then like in five minutes I heard her call her mother a ***** and her brother slapped her across her face. And the girl ran out crying. And then this man got mad and started yelling at him. And the brother was like "it's corporal punishment, it's legal" then the man said are you her father and the brother said "no I'm her brother but my mom gave me permission" and the man just sat down. Is this abuse???? I never saw the girl again. (The mom didn't do anything the whole time)
