i'm 16 years old and my best friend lives 20 hours away. currently she's on vacation and only 10 hours away from me, yes still far, but so much closer than we're used to. i've met her twice in real life and haven't seen her in almost a year. i'm not going to get into the struggles of long distance but it's hard and i just can't do it anymore. my parents wouldn't drive me or let me drive the 10 hours as they don't understand. tomorrow she's going to an amusement park and will only be 7 and a half hours away. i want to sneak out. call in sick for work for the day and drive myself down there. i'm prepared to leave a note and i know i'll probably get killed when i come back but i can't live without her any longer: should i risk it? this is random and probably won't help any of my doubts but i just need someone to talk to about it

I ve lived in the UK for 5 years now and people still make fun of me as a foreigner. They make fun of my voice and accent, and physically bully me because i m different. I recently graduated from High School and I had such an amazing group of friends. I can't imagine having better friends than them. It's painful to go through this fase. How to deal with this?

A handful of friends I'd had for several years seem to have vanished and stopped talking to me since I've been in a relationship and my life is going in a good direction. I've reached out to the friends to hang out, catch up etc, but they send me a couple of "hey, glad to hear you're happy, yeah let's catch up" and I don't hear from them. The last time I spoke to a lot of my friends was when I was single, like them. A couple friends I can't get together with because they live in different states or countries, but I still reach out to have convo and share experiences. One friend I wrote to a couple months ago and she never wrote me back to even say she's been busy - she just ignored me! It seems like now I have less and less friends because they just want to commiserate about being single or complain about men. I'm close to my 40s and my friends are around the same age - I would think they'd mature and still keep in touch no matter what. I have time to chat with them and hang out once in a while, but they've just vanished. It seems like they're waiting for me to be single again to reconnect??? What's wrong with these "friends!!"

I work at a law office and only make a max of $1,400/month. The people I work with are always getting me to hang out with them but I say no and feel bad. I do mention to my boss that I cant just because my funds are on the low side and its just hard right now. They pay sometimes and offer to pay a lot but then I feel bad for them spending their money on me and I feel like I owe them back. I am 23 and starting college (first time) soon, paying off some debt, and don t have a vehicle at the moment so I do have priorities first. I just don't want them to think I am trying to avoid hanging out or make it look like I don't like them. Any tips on how to explain this to them?

I have been talking to this person named Sean. he is very specific in the way he likes to engage conversation and I am typically decent at meeting peoples conversational needs yet he seems to be giving me troubles. He is almost like talking to a robot and puts no effort back into the conversation. He has told me he is a narcissist whether or not that is totally true I will admit I do not know. no matter what conversation I bring to that table he shows complete disinterest. It confuses me because he will act so cold to me but then the next moment he will say that enjoys my company. so i live in an area where my town and the towns around me all go to the same high school and the high school and all the other towns are filled with wannabe gang bangers, bullies, etc. i got bullied my whole life for basically being ugly and in high school it only got worse. if you're not in a gang then they literally bully you for it , in front of everyone. if you don't dress the same as them, they bully you. if you don't disrespect the teachers and bring guns to school, they bully you...i think you get the gist of how they are......i listen to rock, like to skateboard, like to dance and make music and they think that's "dumb white people ****" ...lol i'm not even white but i've been told that's how i act ...? i tried being friends with so many people and they all end up being the exact same! i get stabbed in the back and used for money and they try to make me do drugs like coke, smoke weed, pop xans, get drunk etc. i smoked weed but it didn't do me any favors. fitting in with these people isn't what i want to do. i have no in real life friends, just friends i met online from other states. point of this is how do i make friends when there is no one like me within at least an hour from my town.

I liked the same woman for 8 months. She went from telling me that she "liked" me" and "liked" talking to me to "What do you want to talk about?" and "I don't like how you're following me." One time when I tried to talk to her, she told me, "I want to get out of here" and left me in the room I was talking to her in. She "loved" the birthday presents I got her and read the card I wrote inside in and likely threw away the presents I got her. She ignored most of my text messages.
