I DONT. hes been in another country for like 2 weeks now cuz work. is she really gonna tell him every minor thing we did when he gets back and will be tired and stuff? i think the most pathetic thing is we had an argument about me not wiping my shoes before i came in the house after i went to the pond. so shes gonna tell my dad i didnt wipe my shoes? dont u think thats sad but the mud was dry by the time i walked the 6 miles home from the pond i just wanted to get a drink in peace and sit down.

I live with my mother and my grandmother, My grandmother legally owns the house it's under her name only. My mother says I cannot because she helps pays bills in the house and she's my mother so I she can dictate when I go out. My argument is I pull my own weight around the house and I do extra, cleaning pool and cutting grass, not to mention I'm 18 and I decide what's best for me now since I'm an adult. I am 18 years old and live with my dad. I feel like he does not respect me as a "adult" and treats me as if I don't know what I am doing in life. I have been living on my own since I was 16 and decided to try living with him as an alternative. I feel like he does not respect my privacy. For example, whenever he comes and talks to me while I am in my room, he stands in the doorway and looks all around. I had some passport paperwork on my dresser and he decided to just walk in and start looking at it. Then he questions me for having the documents. Everytime I leave the house I am questioned. If I go to the bank, he asks why. Whenever I receive mail he never tells me about it. He lies to me to informarion. I don't smoke often, but when I do, I make sure he isn't around in fear of his reaction. I don't feel like I should have to feel this way because I am not a little child anymore. Any ideas on how I should approach this?

My parents are so boring. My mom quit work back in April and my dad works, eats, watches tv and sleeps. Even when he is off he does that, but just no work just the same old. I have stuff to do, but they won't let me. I asked to go to a friends house and they'd pick me up my mom and was like " um I don't like you going far , besides what're you gonna do over there?" I mean it beats staying home. The house is 3 miles away! We never leave home besides the local grocery store and I'm getting bored. I can only go on 4 streets. How do I get my parents to get out and do fun stuff for a change and if not at least let me. My dad is the best, and it's thanks to him that my family has such a nice life. But a week ago right before me, my mom, and my brother left to visit my grandparents, he came home drunk out of his mind, reeking of alcohol, and insulting/ridiculing me and my mom about how we were worthless. When my mom got upset, he slapped his 6 year old son across the face, saying that it was his fault that my mom was angry. When we got to my grandparents' house, my mom and I talked about what happened, and she broke down and told me about how my dad had gotten drunk 12 years ago and impregnated another woman, and afterwards payed her to keep her and her baby out of our lives. Since we both knew that he was throwing a party with his friends from softball club, we suspected that history would repeat itself. I couldn't cope with the fact that my dad, even though he loved us, could let himself get drunk enough to cheat on his own wife. I stole my mom's wine bottle and got wasted, biking around the neighbourhood and accidentally calling my friend who was with my boyfriend. He heard everything I said and afterwards, he tried doing whatever he could to help me, and today, when he denied me alcohol, I got so angry that I broke up with him. My fiance' and I believe strongly in not living together before marriage. We are getting married Labor Day weekend. She has a 16 year old son from before she was "Born Again". She wants her son to move in with me a month before she does. Her reasoning is: 1.) It will let him start the coming semester in the schools in my area (which are better) 2.) It will keep him away from wedding planning chaos. (Which has led her to snap at him several times.) 3.) She can move out of her apartment and temporarily move in with her mother...thus saving on rent. (Her landlord would prefer she be out before September so he can potentially compete for student tenants who come into town late August. She also figures the kid can handle the move while she handles the wedding.) This idea strikes me as kind of weird. a.) Does this sound like a good idea? b.) Can a 16 year old be trusted on to handle the move without assistance from an adult? c.) He seems like a good kid, but would it be problematic having a 16 year old living here without any kind of authority figure? d.) Any preparations I should make if I decide to go along with this? He seems well behaved but super-shy, if it matters. The other proposal was the kid would move in with his Dad. I don't like that idea, because the Dad is a total pothead and a "player". My assumption is that it will take time to really establish myself as an authority figure to a teenager. Having him here without his Mom presents problems if their are disciplinary issues.

Long story short, my mom is a convicted felon (fraud). Because of that she has found it difficult to find work ( as in, won't apply to the hundreds of leads I have sent her to companies that hire felons as a second chance). So she works as a cleaning lady. My brother fell on hard financial times and moved back in with her with his wife and son. In exchange for rent, he drives her to her cleaning jobs. Problem is they are toxic for each other. They yell and scream at each other and my mother hates my sister in law so she's allways screaming at her to get out... well, they did. My bro took his family and moved to florida Now that my brother is gone, she expects me to drive her to her cleaning job. That's 8 hours of my time gone for her to make $90. I told her that I wasn't able to do that and she lost it. I told her to buy a non owners policy for insurace so she could start renting cars again. She refused and told me to put her on my insurance (not happening, she's a terrible driver and I won't let her spike my rate) . Then she proceeds to tell me that the flip phone i bought her isnt good enough. She wants an i phone. I told her if she wants an i phone, she needs to purchase her own plan (I offered to pay deposit) because I can't afford the added cost) She screams at me that I'm punishing her. I am attending junior college cus I couldn't afford a 4 year university and my parents couldn't either. The financial aid award wasn't enough. Since I'm going to a junior college I have to live with my parents. My mom is telling to come home after class and doesn't want me out when it's dark. I'm an 18 year this is suppose to be the funnest times of my life and my mom is ruining it. How am I suppose to be happy in life with her being strict. Basically, here is a brief description of my sister: she is an intelligent girl who received straight A stars in her GCSEs, however, recently, here teachers have been giving her very bad reports and her grades have severely dropped. She seems more interested in going to parties than spending time with her family or studying for her imminent UKCAT exams. Here is a brief description of me: I am top of my year group of 200, receiving exam grades surpassing that of the last record holder from 1920. I am extremely hard working and one of my main motives was to make my parents proud. I spend huge amounts of time with my Dad, who, as a result of his diabetes, regularly need injections which i administer. However i am no angel: i am mediocre at sport and don't play an instrument and i struggle with making friends. Now, the problem. My Dad in particularly is the worst. Whenever purchasing somethings or making myself dinner, he always insists on 2:one for me, one for my sister. And so this is one trait I'm very proud of. However, recently neithermy sister nor him have been reciprocating this gesture. Furthermore, when both of us are in trouble, he always singles me out. Also, when i don't do well academically, i am punished, however, when my sister fails, she is comforted for days. When i succeed, my achievements are shrugged off, my sister receives presents and great praise. Now i don't know what to do about this. After college I went abroad for a year lost all friends and things were tough. My parents are abusive my dad was physically I am 25 female and it took therapy to get me to move back to college area. That said I have no friends from three years of crippling anxiety and after moving and getting a job thru help of therapy I traveled a month in and realized how low my life is and I have no friends left and keep reading for quick fixes so I panicked called my very unstable mom and I'm back home. I offered to get my mom a tablet to check email and see pics of my kids etc and their is a neighbor who has a B and B with wifi so I suggested she ask to use it and if it works out then think about getting it. My older brother gets treat really different than me because he's in college and i'm in high school but even though his college A levels are important they let him stay up at night on his laptop, talking to his friends as long as he wants. Days later i got message from her and it said hi but here's the catch when i asked her out she said "NO I GOT MY OWN PLACE NOW". My brother is constantly Everyday he calls me things like a slut, and calls me fat, he calls me so much more horrible names. This has been going on for about 6 years, but has gotten 10x worse within the last 3 years. Ever since i was 10 years old i have been getting told i was nothing but a fat slut and called all these awful things by someone who is supposed to be my family. Everytime we're in the same room he just says all these things to me, but nobody does anything because they say "thats how brothers and sisters are supposed to act" but everytime i went to a friends house there siblings didnt act like this. He has even bashed me and everything but no one even does anything, even if i show them the marks, it has made me scared to leave my bedroom if he is home. He gets his friends to say stuff to me and he spreads rumours about me, which i know is pathetic, especially coming from a 18 yr old boy, but it still really hurts. Im scared to talk about it because i think people will just laugh and say "thats how brothers act" like they have before. I've even talked to counsellors about it. But they didnt do anything, they didnt talk to my mum, it was just like they shrugged it off except for one who talked to my brother about it. But when my brother came home he raged at me and ended up punching me and giving me a black eye, which nobody did anythin about. He picks on whatever i do and constantly puts me down. He even gets his friends to say stuff to me. What do i do?

I went to my friends house a few times one of her family dog "nugget" has been kinda stand off with me. She would growl at me for nothing I'd just be sitting on the couch talking to my friends family. Today I went over & I was playing with their other dog "Peanut". I went to grab the toy ring to play with Peanut & I guess i bumped/stepped accidentally on nuggets foot because she was behind me & I didn't see her. I bent down to pet her & asked if she was okay n she went to attack me. She was going for my face lucky my friend stopped her before she could sink her teeth into me. But after her mom kinda made me feel like it was my fault by saying "oh that's why she attacked". Then she texted her daughter who wasn't there n her daughter said "id bite someone if they stepped on my foot". I was attacked by a dog 5 years ago it shook me, it took me awhile to get okay with my dog moe who my family rescued he would jump & he would scare me because I thought he was gonna attack me. I have no idea if this is my fault on top of that this isn't the only time nugget as attacked someone, she attacked a little child about 10 she bit him on his butt. I just feel like I am to blame for this whole thing, it didn't help the comments her family said to me. I didn't mean to it was an accident n I kept apologizing. However I feel like crying it scared me so much Instead of asking if I was okay they just kept saying that's why she went to attack you n so on.

I don't plan to have children with a cousin at all! Thankfully, my parents are the only ones I'm aware of in my family like that, and I along with all of my siblings are healthy and doing well, and no big health problems run in the family either (thank God). But today I was talking to my SO and they brought up the point that maybe it would be better to adopt instead, but I found that completely heartbreaking because I would love to have a kid of my own. They said they didn't want to raise a child who had to deal with that kind of stigma but I mean it's their grandparents, you know? So I have been with my boyfriend for 2 and a half years. We moved out to our own apartment and his grandparents would come and stay with us when they have doctor visits here. They are from vegas and for some god forsaken reason have to come down couple hundred miles to see a dcotor. Regardless, this isn t the problem, I open them with welcome arms everytime they come. They dont pay for anything and almost on a daily basis they send me out to run errands. I never say no to them and help them with anything. I grew up and was taught to respect my elders and even though i really dont want to run errands everyday, i do it because they are my boyfriends grandparents. Recently, his grandma came down for almost 2 months and because she has nothing to do around the house, i let her cook even tho I can honestly cook myself. So i gave up my kitchen n let her have it. Since then i dont step foot in the kitchen because she is in there all day long. Either cooking or sitting there watching her ipad. What i am annoyed about is that she doesnt realize and isnt grateful for the things i do for her. She even went as far as complaining and degrading about me microwaving some dinner. What should i do! Suck it up and give up my happiness for them? Or stand up to them and start standing my ground and putting them in their place? I recently ordered something on amazon (not illegal or 18+) with a prepaid visa gift card. It is in-transit. When the package arrives, it will come to my mail box (a couple houses down the street). I already go and get the mail as a chore (thought of that when I bought the product and already began doing it ;) My mom does not work and is home all day but my dad goes to work during the day. It is expected to arrive during a school day. I am pretty sure the mail man comes at around 3pm to 5pm but not entirely sure. Also, if it helps, I get out of school at 2:30 but have football practice from 3 to 5:30 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. How can I bring the package from the mail box, into my house and into my room without my parents (or brother) seeing or noticing me? ALSO, it has already shipped, and the address that was put for it, is my own house (NOT a friends). OCCASIONALLY, my mom will go and grab the mail (if she is coming home after 4 or 5pm) as it is a couple houses down the street. (she drives down a few houses before pulling into the driveway). The problem is she doesn't do this very consistently, so there is a huge risk she will grab it when it arrives. (UNLESS I can get to it before her)

Most of them say that these horrible people look for children who are: from unhappy home environments or have parents "who just don't understand". I notice that a great amount of children and teens getting raped or abducted are from unhealthy environments. For example, one girl who was raped was from a family FULL of drug addicts. This young boy who was lured by a sexual predator had parents who made him emotionally unstable by neglecting and verbally abusing him.

Hi. I'm going to college next year. My mom and I have always been very close but I don't feel like that much anymore. My mom has anxiety and I've never had much freedom to begin with, but as I got older, the more annoying it became. Sometimes she won't let me drive 5 minutes away from home. My relationship with my mom has been so strained that I feel like there's a whole side to me that she doesn't know, and feel like I'm 13 when I'm an adult. I've been having sex for years, and leading a pretty risky lifestyle and can't even ask her for birth control without being scrutinized/shouted at. Now that I'm older I can't hang out with my mom for long periods of time without getting annoyed or depressed. God. Sometimes she just flat out just makes me feel bad about myself. It's literally just relentless complaining about me and I'd honestly be better off if she just shut up. Even with her weird rules I haven't even been protected. I was still diddled by relatives as a kid and raped anyway so I'm not even sure what the hell she's afraid of anymore. I told her I wad depressed & about the rape when I was 14 and she didn't do anything about it so I'm not sure why she cares whether or not I go to CVS or not. And sometimes she's just rude. I've spent most of this summer away from her, and when I called today I woke her from her nap and she was extremely mad. I really haven't missed my parents. I just miss having my own place to stay.

I volunteer for children and teens ages 5-16 in BC, Canada for badminton. One teen girl comes from an unhappy family. Her mom is very judgemental of her and her siblings. She expects them to have a high self esteem and be motivated, but she also compares them to other children saying they're not good enough. Not a day passes by and her mom doesn't mention how someone else is better. This girl is on the autistic spectrum and had more trouble at school when she was younger. She says that she doesn't look forward to seeing her mom when she's home from work anymore. I think all the other kids really like her and she's very kind. She wants to go back to school so she can see her friends there, also because school is also a "refuge" for her. Her dad is absent from her life, and the parents fight a lot. She's in an extended family, and the grandparents don't get along either. Based on her file, there is a history of an older family member bullying and drinking too much when she was in 3rd grade.

Question: Should I continue to sleep in here?

This may sound pretty dumb but, it's been on my mind for awhile. So I rarely see my mom because of a divorce, and she's never been the richest so she own a really, really small home in the mountains. So in the house there's a small mattress I can sleep on, however there's a trailer in the front yard visible to the street (not to many people drive by) and last night I had bad vibes in there and around 11:00 I heard the doer try to open, I couldn't see anyone outside since it was dark so I thought I was just hearing things, well. 15 minutes later I heard it again, so I texted my mom but did no good since she was sleeping. So I plugged my ears (stupid I know) for around 30 minutes later until I was tired and fell asleep. Currently it's 9 and I'm laying in the trailer if I should stay or go in, I'd rather not go in because there is some mold that got cleaned up in the house but some residue is left and I'm allergic, I don't know what to do, I locked the trailer door, it scares me to think someone tried to open it.

OK so my brother was standing by the door, it was dark out and I closed the door and his fingers were there. He started crying and then he was yelling "mommy mommy" loud and my mom was walking outside so she ran and started yelling at me for doing this and that. Like bruh, I mean like it's not even my fault! It was dark outside it was night time and then my neighbor heard us and called us and said "what happened?" AND SHE IS THE GOSSIP QUEEN I SWEAR. SHE GOING TO TELL EVERYONE NOW😠Anyways my mom was complaining saying we should be payed more attention had ****. Then I told her to stop yelling so loud, after that she started to yell even more and more! I mean it was night time and everyone was sleeping!!! After that she pinched my cheeks really hard, no she's not abusive this rarely happens. But then I started crying and I saw my neighbor was watching us after that she was complaining really really really loud and crap. She always does this! Always yelling for small things. I mean we're kids aren't all kids like that?! And I think it's because she has diebetes, is a house wife, doesn't get to spend money for her own stuff, and yah.. my dad also always yells but not as much as my mom. Much much less actually. BTW my mom doesn't like my dad or his family. When they were newly wed my dad's mom wasn't good or neither was my dad's sister or brother. They use to talk bad about her. im 14 and we always argue and im such a disappointment to them, they even want to send me away. i dont make the smartest choices like i want to drop out, im very rude, most of my friends are older and on meth but i just cant change. i want to but i cant. it hurts knowing that in a few years i'll be broke, no where to go, and probably an addict but i dont want to continue with school, i cant continue with the bs my parents put me through, and i cant put up with everything ive been through anymore. i just want to leave home for a week or so. i'd still go to school, i'd just be away from home. i have some people i can stay with but idk what to tell my parents. i just need a little break from them to clear my mind. dont call me dumb or stupid.

I don't know if this question sounds crazy, but my Dad left my family about a year ago. I kept up a relationship with him, that was toxic over the last 9 months when everyone else in my family cut ties when he left. A month ago, I decided to officially end any and all contact with my father. The circumstances are unfortunate, hurtful, and toxic. It took me a lot of strength to realize having him in any way even if it was just a text every now and then, was hurting me. He went from being a family man, to moving 2,000 miles away and living with his mistress, even engaged without telling us- to this day I have no idea if he's married.. He's done a lot of shady **** and I for whatever reason couldn't let him go- even though he made no room for me in his "new life" However, since I have cut ties with him- I have persistently had detailed dreams about him. Does that mean there's any chance my Dad misses us? I think I'm just reaching, because for 20 years he was my best friend and then one day at the beginning of my junior year of college- he just disappeared.

is a drug addict? they want him to get a job but he says his references are bad and that places turn him down. He dropped out of engineering school and now he stays up until 5:00a.m and wakes up at 3:00pm every day and plays video games. I am 17 and I work at a grocery store to pay for gas and to help pay for my braces. I will start nursing school in the fall of 2018. I get up at 9am every day during the summer to do chores before work and I have to do his chores to since he is lazy. My dad wants to kick him out since he stole $200 from my dad, $100 from my mom, and $40 from me. My dad was paying his way through engineering school and then he drops out when he only has 2 semesters left. My parents do not know that he smokes weed and does heroin. My brother never helps around the house and he has a really dirty room.

Sorry for my bad English, I just wanted to tell somebody how I am feeling and also need your advise. It's a long story so I can't really give all the details but here we go. So about a year ago me, my mom and my stepdad recently purchased a house so we are co-owners all three of us, we originally wanted only for my mom and myself to be the owner but I guess since they are married there are some assets on their account that needs to included when qualifying for a loan so we had to include my step dad so his income can help us qualify. The reason we didn't want him to be a part of it is because they've been fighting a lot and he has been calling my mom names and I forgive him all the time for that, however it reached a point where I had to stop talking to him because he tried hitting my mom I just could not forgive anymore, if my friend wasn't there to take the punch my mom could have been hurt. Without even asking, my mother in law stated that I will be living at her house for those two weeks. I said.. Um what?! And she went off about how she will make sure her bed has clean sheets and yada yada. I politely explained to her that, no, I cannot just move in for that whole time. I also have a household to run, I work and have my own pets. Her response was that I could just take all my pets with me!! Then again I said no, I will gladly go over each and every day to care for her dogs but I'm not staying. She continued talking as if I didn't say anything!!! What do I do?? My step-dad always lies to my mother, he cheats on my mother but my mother always thinks that we re lying just so he can go away. Every time we try to tell our mother the truth, our step-dad hits us when our mother isn t home. Even John. And John is autistic and he doesn t deserve to suffer. So things have been rocky throughout most of our relationship In 2011 he convinced me to quit my job. I started working again last July and he is trying to get me to quit again. He is in fact that after my surgery last month I didn't resign from my job. He wanted me to quit back in May and said he'd make my car payments if I did.This month when I didn't have a paycheck (b/c of being on leave for surgery) he didn't want to make the payment and said we didn't need a car. He gets angry at silly things. He yelled at me a few months ago while in Walmart, because I reminded him that we needed to stop at the atm on the way out (exact words: don't forget we need to stop by the atm). More recently he got mad at me for saying "oh hears black beans and...red beans. Want me to make chili?". His response "I don't need you to read what's right in front of me. I can read you know." I went to grab mac & cheese (cheap boxes) for our kids and got told we didn't need it (we were out and the rest of the groceries in the cart where only meant for his work lunch and him to eat when he got home). He frequently refers to other people as stupid (strangers, me, the kids, anybody). If he orders pizza while I'm at work (even when we don't have money in the budget) it's my fault because I didn't buy enough food for him when I went shopping. He slams, throws and hits things when he is mad. He recently broke a door frame. I can't decide if I'm overreacting or if I should get out before things get physical. I should add that we have been together for 8 years and he wasn't like this in the beginning. He helped around the house and wanted to do things with me. He acts like a complete dick but within a matter of mins-hours is acting sweet like nothing ever happened. It's really messing with my head and I am unsure of my own choices anymore. I don't even know when I became so unsure of myself at this point.

So my questions is Am I wrong for not wanting to have a relationship with my father? And I need some advice because I don't have anybody else. So I'm a 20 year old guy who was raised by my mother and grandmother since I was a kid. My parents had me when they were 19 and 20, my mom and I were close. She raised me and literally busted her a** working to give me an amazing life. My mom always tried to get my father to visit me and be a part in my life, but he always had something more important than me, girlfriends, friends, parties, his job. Every time I'd go with him he'd drop me off at my nan's. My mom died when I was 13 and it destroyed me, I went to live with him and it was horrible. I was looking for a parent and he just wasn't there. I literally slit my wrists and he visited me once in the hospital! I went to live with my Nan and things were okay. Fast forward to now and I have a job, fiance, apartment and life's pretty good, but I found out his new 'girl" is pregnant. I'm not gonna lie, I'm angry! How can someone literally ignore their child for 20 years and then pop out another one! I'll never understand how you can be there for one kid but not the other. He now wants to be in my life, but want nothing to do with him. Why wait 20 years, I don't want him to think he can walk in and out of my life as he pleases. I don't anything to do with his new life or his kid. Am I wrong? I just need some advice. Thanks :)

I m 17 and my sister is 18. I don t have many friends so I usually turn to her when I need someone to talk to, but whenever I talk to her she tells me how annoying I am. When I m talking to her she usually tells me that she s tempted to smack me upside the head, kill me, ect. becuase of how much I m annoying her. My older brother was a difficult teen and has had trouble in marriage though his current marriage seems to be working out. I have mental illness (anxiety disorders). My younger sister (next down) was a drug addict. She got her life together but was horrible as a teenager and slept around. Child 4 turned out very well (a boy) and got married. He even graduated from Yale. Last in line is the other younger sister and she is a mean and spoiled brat who is being groomed at age 25 to be a full blown narcissist by 40. When she wants something she wants it NOW!!! So is this a reflection on my parents poor parenting? My mother was always very bitter at extended family (not us) and this caused me much of my anxiety and may have taught my older brother how to be bitter. Our Dad enabled her and her bitter ways.

So my husband's brother has been living with us for a little over five months now following his release from court-ordered rehab. So far, he's been a generally positive presence in our household. He helps out with chores and even used his first paycheck from his new job at Long John Silver's to buy my four month old daughter a beautiful vintage bassinet. However, two days ago he made an offhand comment that truly shook me to my core. I was changing my daughter shortly after her afternoon feeding when I noticed him lingering in the hallway adjacent to the nursery. We briefly exchanged eye contact, at which point he entered the nursery and stood behind me surveying the scene. After lingering for a moment or two he very casually said "That p*ssy is going to make some man very happy someday" and promptly walked away. I was so shocked by his remark that I simply pretended not to hear him. At first I assumed that he was directing his comment toward me, but after further thought it's pretty clear that he was talking about my daughter. I've yet to tell my husband about the incident as he has a very violent temper and is currently on probation for an assault charge. How should I interpret his statement? Was it just a casual (if inappropriate) joke or is there something else going on here? I've left my daughter alone with him on numerous occasions and plan to in the future as he's sort of become our default babysitter. What's the best course of action in this situation?

So I m 14 and all my life my dad has worked a full time job. We ve always been tight on money and my mom has stayed home with my for over 13 years and she finally decided to go get a part time job because my dad would always complain about how we have "no money". He always is so concerned about money. My mom started working and people at her job treated her like dirt. She was always exhausted from waking up at 6 am and being away almost every day. I remember a couple of years ago (I was 11 or so) and my brother was 15. He was going through rough times, he would always fight with my parents, say awful things about them, etc. I could never understand. I love my parents and wanted to spend lots of time with them. Now it's me in that stage. I sit in my room all day, ignore my mom's questions, disrespect my parents, mutter things behind their backs, all the usual teen stuff. I hate my attitude, and I wish everything could be how it used to, but whenever I try to do something, something goes wrong that sets me off and I get annoyed again. I just feel like they will never understand and accept me, so why try? Any advice? (I'm a 13 year old girl btw)
