Am I being unreasonable? I am 17 and have 2 jobs. I earn £140 a week on average whilst at sixth form. I have to give my mom £20 a week (but that is not enough and thinks I should be giving her at least £80) I have to buy my own books and clothes etc, which is fine. I will also have to pay for my own driving lessons which will be over £80 a month, however I cannot start them as my mom says they are all too expensive, but I cant find no cheaper. Then my mom complains and calls me lazy etc. Today I told her I was joining the gym and she started shouting at me calling me selfish and how the gym is pointless etc and in the next breath will tell me Im fat and need to lose weight. She also keeps telling me I need to move out, because she did at 19 and she tells me Im selfish like my dad and that my dad doesnt love me and everything. What can I do? All my mom cares about is money and she is quite selfish and not loving to me at all as her daughter. She doesnt even want me to go to uni as she says its expensive and a waste of time. My mom earns £45,000 a year which is quite good, as well as bonuses. It genuinely want to commit suicide because I cannot deal with all this stress. Also, although she cares about money too much, she gets mad at me for working. I can never win. She also always complains about me to people and makes me look really bad, like she is a perfect mother.

Question: Can i get my dad arrested for being mad with me for hitting my 6 yr old sister when she started it? he should be mad at her?

i was doing some school work. and not even work that the teacher assigned. it was work i assigned myself to practice electronic configuration, you know the orbital method where it goes like 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 etc. thats how good of a son and student i am, that i was sat there on a sunday evening doing the electronic config. of the first 10 elements and some random ones i picked out. abbreviated and unabbreviated method. then my stupid sister come into my room saying stupid stuff like ''i pooped myself''. she didnt. she just says weird stuff. i toad her to get out but she keep coming back so i got mad and headlocked her and then tripped her up by kicking her legs. when i got yelled to come downstairs by my dad, she was limping around the room like i broke her legs when she ran down to snitch on me without a limp. my dad called me a bully. all he did to her was toad her to stay out of my room & away from my door and hallway. she wont! he said i should of toad him straight away what she was doing. whats the point when he isnt gonna beat her up like he has done to me in the past? he even twist all this around and say i annoy him like she annoys me so now i know how it feels. well he chose to have kids. i didnt choose to have sisters. and when i said that, he said im on warning that one more word and im grounded. for what?? (i couldnt even say that to him or id be grounded) hes so dumb & hitler i want him arrested. he even threaten to ground me for ''glaring'' at him. hes crazy

He's one of those annoying creaters asking for stuff. I plan to dumb him in the snow but then I will have to wait until winter gets here . My mother is mad her sister won't let her kids (the sister's kids) see their older half-brother, but my mother did the same to my siblings and I with a relative when I was a kid? So the background was my grandfather on my mother's side had alcoholism so I was not allowed to see him between aged 8 and 14. I persisted at wanting to see him and broke free at age 15 of my mother's control and was able to see him and got very close with him for his last 15 years of life. Now, 15 years later, my mother is mad her sister won't let her younger two kids see their older half-brother (my aunt's step-son) who my Mom's sister is too critical of due to behavioral problems he had at a younger age. Yet, my aunt is divisive indeed but exactly the same way my mother was. The only difference is the step-cousin's issues aren't as noticable in public as someone being drunk (though the grandfather went sober the last decade+ of his life). So why the irony? I am asking because I want to understand my mother's point of view. I am asking because I want to understand my mother's point of view even though I do NOT support my mother alienating us from our grandfather from those 6 years or my Mom's sister doing it to her kids and their half-brother.

My mother's uncle is in hospice after a massive stroke so assuming he dies in the coming few weeks what do I say when people complain to me about my mother's tacky ways? I want to sympathize because I agree it is wrong of my mother as she was asked not to before when her brother died and when her father-in-law on the other side of her family died. So both sides of the family have asked us not to. My Mom has a strange excitement for the attention I guess that an RIP announcement gets plus she does it right away when she gets word someone has died.

I've been dating an alcoholic for 2 years and living with him. when we first met he had no job and got one two weeks after I said it wouldn't work out because I didn't like paying for a grown man to live. Once he got a job he moved in with me and helped with rent and groceries. It was pretty much great financially except he started to get physcially abusive and I'm not one to just get hit and let someone get away with it so I'd hit him right back to find that would fuel his fire and he would get worse and I could no longer defend myself. Well as of today he hasn't been physically abusive with me for months, but I haven't forgot. I haven't forgot comming home to my clothes being cut up or burned and him saying he doesn't remeber what I did for him to do that. I'm done living in fear and embarrassment. He has called my work to get me fired when I've tried to leave but today I decided I was done. My sister moved closer to my work and offered me to live there. I got a protective order online I need to turn in but the office is only open to turn the papers in when I have work (during business hours). I also don't know how I'm gonna move my things out, without him getting physical or ruining my things. No peace officer is available unless it were to get physical once I start moving. I need a plan and I'm at a loss on what to do without the protective order being completed or a peace officer.

So yeah, I am in freshman year of high school and am an Indian(high expectations) boy who is an only child. I've been improving myself ALOT recently, in the past six months, getting involved in everything, working hard, and even taking two languages at once. But every time I improve, my mom gets happy for maybe a week then once again starts comparing me and trying to make me feel small/bad about myself so I can improve even more. She also always looks at the negative over the positive. But today, it looks like she had enough. I do like 3 hours of work and 30 mins of relax. My mom walks upstairs, sees me reading on my bed, then SUDDENLY FLIPS OUT. She starts yelling at the top of her lungs, the highest decibel level that she only uses when something terrible happens, like the one time I got a 70 on a math test. She starts being really mean, saying how much of a lazy loser I am, and tells me at this rate I'll be flipping burgers at McDonalds. I dared to say "I am just taking a break, I've basically been working this whole morning" but she says "Where? When?! I only saw you doing work for like what, 30 minutes? And I've seen you play for like 1 hour now!" Then she starts yelling even more and after finally going down one notch in anger I am able to back away. Now I need real help, she has left for an outing w/ friends. What can I do???

Okay, first of all, I really respect my dad. He grew up in poverty in Taiwan as the youngest son of 6. But he has this idea that violence is the most effective way to educate one about discipline, and has a short fuse. (though he's never actually beaten me) Ever since his sister came to our house an critiqued the finer points of my undiscipline (ex: eating a small bag of chips by myself and not sharing) he's blown up more often over smaller things, even with my mother. More than half of his year is spent traveling for work, mostly to Asia, since he's the only one with a job, but usually he brings small souvenirs and plays tennis with me when he gets back. Today,he asked me for the address for the university library I needed to go to whiel he was cooking. I told him there was only one university near our house, and that I'd type the address into his phone later since he was cooking. He stopped and freaked about my "tone". Eventually, it escalated to him ranting about how he had no idea he'd raise a daughter so rude and irrational, yelling "shut up or I WILL beat you. You will have to call police." every time I raised my voice, about how I should stop being as irrational as my mother, and how if he'd had a choice he wouldn't want me as a daughter. He told me I had to respect him, and, upset, I told him that I'd respect those who deserved it. Embarrassingly enough, I cried. Okay, I know he sounds really bad right now, but 2 years ago never even raised his voice. What changed?

My mother gets mad at her siblings often and won't let go of stuff. Sometimes she has the right to be mad for a few days but then she holds onto stuff for years. It is little things. My uncles and the aunt dont do this but my mother does. When I reach out they seem awkward seeing me because of my mother. So I sometimes (not always) miss out. So I worry I am 2nd rate because of my mother and there for have a stigma on me. So while my mother is not bad, she is bitter. How do I handle this stigma. I know I can't change my mother but how do I survive the stigma? I especially feel it at times of year that family matters (weddings, funerals and especially the holiday season).

I m 16 and I live with my biological father and step mom. My dad was given full custody of me at the age of 5 due to sexual abuse committed against me by my biological mother s ex husband. I like my home, I guess. But my step- mom is often a horrible person. She ll call me a *****, or an ungrateful child, or tell me to get the **** away from her, and just things along that line. She makes me feel like absolute garbage. I don t try hard enough on chores, I m not trying hard enough to get a job (even though it was my choice to go for one), I don t leave the house enough, and I play too much video games. In her eyes, that s all I am. And she just loses her patience for me so quick. Recently, I got back in touch with my grandparents and spent two months there, and its just gotten worse since then. But with my grandparents, I ve gotten back in touch with my real mom. And she s changed a lot. They ve told me I always have a bedroom there, and if I ever wanted to live there just say the word. But I m just scared it ll damage so much if I do that. But nothing s changing. And dad just stands by and even bbacksup my step mom as she s bashing everything about me. So my question is, can I choose who to live with? If yes, should I? I really believe she s changed. My brother lives with my grandparents, and my sister lives with my mom. It just seems like a better life. There are good times where I currently live. But also a lot of bad times and a **** ton of tears.

My dad met a women over the internet from the Philippines they talked for about six months, then he started to file papers to get her over to the USA. A year later and they got married and now they have been together for about 2 years. He tells me after he dies (if he does before her) hes going to give her everything. now I live in my house with my dad, my grandfather built this house with his own money and it has been in the family since. I think its unfair that she will be getting the house because she won't keep it in the family. Also by watching them together I can tell she doesn't truly love my dad, shes mostly into the idea of being married and living in the USA because both of her sister's also has done the same thing. My daughter has been asking to get a Christina piercing for a while now and my wife is all for it. She has one and I'll admit it's cute but I don't think it's appropriate on a 14 year old. When I was little, maybe 5-6 years old, my cousin who was 5 years older than me "thought" me how to masturbate and she would also touched me a lot. My dad died when I was 2 so did my gma before I was born on my dad side. Alot of my dad side of family passed away from either cancer or something else. My dad died from a heart attack on his way home from work he passed one hospital cause he already owed money so he went to the next nearest one and died there. I was only 2 so I didn't know much about him,but my mom said he use to come to me in my dreams and tell me to tell her stuff. I'm 16 now currently in the 11th. I get angry quick,i'm always sad and I just burst into tears cause I miss him so much! I wanna do counseling my mama said she will get me it but never do. I am 16 and live with my Dad and twin brother. So here's the situation: I have been living with my mom and dad for a while, until they got divorced. We moved to another area and my brother and I switched every week between each parent. Then, freshman year I had to live with my dad permanentely, and he moved us an hour north. Now, I only see my mom on weekends or every other weekend. I want to live with my mom for many reasons. 1. I am not happy at the school I go to and the people in the area are rude and stuck up. 2. My dad isn't around very much and travels every month. 3. I am more comfortable living with my mom and am more happier in the area she lives in, since I previously lived there. 4. I feel I've missed out on a lot of time I could've spent with her, and I want to gain some of that time back, I love her dearly. 5. My dad is unstable right now, and is always angered by the littlest of things I do. He also has a girlfriend and has been spending a lot of time with her lately. He loves me very much and I love him to but I feel it is time to spend my last year with my mom. There's cons to living with her though, I will be away from my twin brother and also the relationship with my dad will change. I want to see my dad every week and maintain the same relationship but he will view me moving in with my mom has a decision against him. I am divorced but I am still friends with my ex husband. When we were married he worked and put me through college. My ex husband used his contacts in business to find me the ideal job when I graduated from college. I did well in that job and got promoted several times. I recently received an inheritance and I felt a moral obligation to repay my ex husband some of the money he spent on putting me through college. I gave my former husband $50,000 from my inheritance. He did not want to take it but I insisted. Then something happened that just blew me away. I got a letter that my condo mortgage of $50,000 had been paid in full. I could not figure out how that happened until I remembered that my ex husband was still on the mortgage. The bank told me he came in with a cashiers check for $50,000 and paid off my mortgage. So my question is, can I choose who to live with? If yes, should I? I really believe she s changed. My brother lives with my grandparents, and my sister lives with my mom. It just seems like a better life. There are good times where I currently live. But also a lot of bad times and a **** ton of tears.

Here is an example of how insane my father is, he won't let me do the voice message on my phone because I am a girl and if some creep decides too choose a random number and he hears my voice he will harass me because I am a girl. He won't let me wear what I want to without telling me that I look like a slut. Every so often when I go to school he tells me that if anyone touches me to hit them and run away. He literally is so sexist that I can't even begin to start. He also makes jokes about how my mom is a stay at home mom and cooks and cleans all day. FML

I want to leave my parents house but i cant because iknow im not going to make it due to me being still in school and obviously cant pay for stuff .....they treat me like **** and a slave have 2 brothers but for some reason they get treated better and im the oldest and idk why they hate me , i always help them most of the stuff they have is because of me and when im "bad" they always say "i feed you, i buy you stuff, i bought you a car" notice all materialistic which idc if that is taken from me but the way they treat my brothers vs me is noticeable they think just because they buy me stuff i should be happy and they want me to help them be a U.S citizen but the way the treat me im starting to feel like i should just say "f*** you no" .....i want to leave and live my own life but i need help for a little bit while i get some money to get an apratment and a good reliable job....and if you say go live with family member , yea thats impossible everyone is on their own my mom doesnt speak to her family and my dad doesnt either , pretty much f****** ....any help as in where i can go visit a place where they can help me ?

I am a trustworthy sophmore who hasn't done anything that would not make my parents trust me, but they won't let me do ****. For example, a TON of kids in my grade go into NYC (we live nearby) for the whole entire day...WITH THEIR FRIENDS AND NO PARENTS! I would kill to have that kind of freedom. But my bull **** mom and dad don't even trust me to go outside in our backyard without telling them where I'm going.

My parents, especially my dad, like to know what I am doing on my computer and phone 24/7 and are always convinced that I am doing something "bad," like talking to strangers, etc. and it gets on my last nerves and makes me upset. They always accuse me of doing something bad. My mom took my phone because I was using a VPN, but I was only using it because I like to listen to foreign music and sometimes it's not available in America. They can never leave me alone for 15 minutes, they always have to know what I am doing when I am completely innocent but they will never believe me. What do I do? I am also a 15 years old girl

There are two doors that lead to my bedroom- she has locked one and barricaded the other. I've tried being polite and tried yelling, but neither work. She just gives me an attitude. She is 14 and I am 17. My mom is at work and even if she were here, she wouldn't do anything about it. My sister acts up like this very often and my mom is completely sick of it, and will tell me to deal with it myself.

So we've been together for 2 years but he goes out of town (3 hours away) to see his son. I have this gut feeling that he's sleeping with his baby mama. I asked him and he told me he doesn't even like her in that way and that she's mean and crazy. He says tapping her is the last thing on his mind. He says he sleeps on one end of her house and he sleeps on the other. He just kept trying his hardest to convince me and giving a lot of details about her personality. He has even blamed me for not being supportive to him, even though I have, very much. Yet...when he's here with his son or just by himself I hear from him. When he's there and just his son, I hear from him. When she's there, he treats me like I don't exist. I feel like his other child's mom doesn't know about our relationship either. I asked him why he blows up my phone when he's away from them and not when he's in their presence or after the kids are put to bed. He says he don't go on the phone much. At this point I have no trust or faith in him. He says he wants a future with me but acts otherwise. I feel like he's lying to make his life easy. Since I have asked him that, he has not spoken to me at all. Any suggestions?

I'm nineteen, and I have plans to go away for the weekend (it's uni business, so all is paid for already). He's mostly upset because he thinks women shouldn't travel and that I'll be impure or whatever. He offered to go with me, or to send my sister, but I don't want that. I'm nineteen years old and I feel like I need to start asserting where my boundaries stand. It's likely that he'll just keep giving me hell (even after I come home). What do you think?

I don t know what to do anymore. I ve given up EVERYTHING while the father of my child, who lives with me, has given up nothing. My pregnancy was horrible and I had to stop working, my son is 2 months old now and I want so badly to get back to work. I take care of our son day and night, cook, clean, never go out. Whenever I ask the father for some help around the house he gets mad at me for asking, when I ask him for help with our son during the day is all huff and puff about it (forget about help at night). He just said yesterday "I thought I d have to give up everything for our kid and I haven t had to give up anything." While I m the one suffering nonstop having to take care of everything by myself. I can t take it anymore. What the hell do I do?!

So Im currently 27 years old and I have a 3 year old daughter. Her mother died in a car crash just a month after ahe was born. Im dependent on my sister to watch her cause Im always working I have to hold 3 jobs but even then Im not making enough money. I have to split my money between supporting myself supporting my sister supporting my daughter and supporting my schizophrenic mother. My sister cant work because she always needs to watch my daughter. Its been so hard lately and Im afraid my daughter wont be raised how she should be. Im always exhausted as I can barely get sleep so I rarely see her. The mothers parents want nothing to do with me or their grandchild so help from them isnt an option. I can barely even have enough food to buy my child the correct food. Its been so hard and frustrating and depressing and Im almost ready to just quit. Please I need you to tell me if this is the best option?

I live with my mom and wanted to move in with my dad this summer. I want to move because my mom is an alcoholic and I want to sort of start over. I have awful anxiety and I don't know how to ask him. I can text or call him, but I would prefer to text him. I don't know exactly how to say it because I don't know him very well. He lives in a different city, driving would take maybe 2 hours to get there. I also want to know, if my mom refuses, would my dad have to go to court? and I was sort of researching this sort of issue and the website I was looking at said that mothere have the upper hand in situations like this and that dad's are least likely to win court cases. My mom has had issues with the law because of her alcoholic issue so would they do what I want since I am wanting to get out?

Theres a concert in February (2017) that I really wanna go to. I am saving up my own money for the tickets and anything else I might need to get during the trip there. My best friend's older brothers said they might be able to drive us and take us to the concert, but my mom has never met them before and doesnt want me to go with people she hasnt yet met. (she has, however, met my best friend and her parents, along with all of her younger siblings.) I really, really want to go to the concert because I may never have a chance to go to a concert by the band ever again, which would suck. Does anyone have any tips on how to convince my mom to let me go?

I'm the typical kid who has always done everything to please their mom. I don't date, I have good grades, I don't drink/do drugs,I practically never go out of the house unless it is for school (University in my case). I've done so many things to NOT do what I want and please her... and... Yesterday, I went out to band class AND CALLED MY MOM to tell her I was going to hang out with some friends after at a frappe place. She was okay with it. Later, while I was at this place (I didn't do anything else then what I told her), she calls me at 6:30 pm SCREAMING. She was mad because "only whores go out this late at night" (the sun was still up), and that "she didn't educate me like that, so I would be acting like a slut".. And whatever, after thatI threw the phone on the table and waited for the screams to stop. I don't know what other horrible things she could have possibly said. :'( She's my mom you know... It's upsetting... I remember that once she called me "the devil", and said she would slap it out of me if I kept acting like that (I only made a little noise in the kitchen while cooking).

We had an argument this afternoon (the past 2 days we ve had arguments, but today was the worst) - It was over something really stupid but essentially she thought I was trying to imply something when I wasn t and when I tried to defend myself she became furious. She called me a slew of names (*****, psychotic, sick minded, nasty *****) and told me I need psychiatric help. She also said that I stopped her from living her life and try to control her and force her to have the same opinions as me (I ve never once tried to control her or forced my opinions on her) She then became furious and started hitting me, she dragged me by my wrists and threw me on my bed where she continually slapped my arms and legs, my face and even pinched me arm really hard (I have a mark now, it it hurts quite a bit) then she said that she would kill me and that I need to watch it, she even said I will knock you on the ground until you can t walk or breath and turn myself in to the police. I don t know what to do? I m 19 and I m not saying I m innocent I sometimes say stupid things, but anytime I try to explain myself she ll say I m victimising myself r she ll twist my words. What do I do? @Bebeto - It's actually happened more than once....
