I told him that unlike my emotionless ex boyfriend, he's always hugging me and feeling how I'm feeling. He smiled and cried and said he understood. My ex boyfriend has then been asking to have sex with me only. He uses me and that's it. I started missing how my friend treated me. I called for him and he looked at me and kept walking away. I asked him if he wanted lunch, and he ignored me. He stopped caring and sending me random heartwarming messages. He told me to go back to my ex, if I wasn't feeling happy. I yelled at him for that, and he laughed it off. He used to be the sweetest guy that would bring me a rose whenever I was feeling depressed. |

We were good pals at first quite cordial with each other, to where I kinda called him like a bro and he said we're like cousins. From that day on, him and I were legit like fam. Now, we both look a lot different and have gotton more attractive. We do everything together, we go out to eat, he lets me drive his car, he quit the job we both worked because I got fired, and he's always there, as I am for him. His parents and mine both think the whole cousin thing is crazy that it's childish. I definitely like him and have feelings for him. He's going to take me out for my birthday, but he told me his blood cousin wants to meet me. I don't know how I'm supposed to make friends and without friends or family I'm socially isolated which causes depression. I'm used to being on my own, being autistic this isn't the first time I've had no friends, so please don't give me 'learn to enjoy your own company' - human beings need social interaction, you can manage being alone and learn to be comfortable going anywhere on your own, but you can't magic away the need for friends. I'm not always lonely, I'd like friends and a boyfriend to help prevent loneliness, but I am always alone and I'm not an introvert or anti-social so this is no fun for me...on days like today when it's hot out I want to be hanging with a big group of friends at the park, beach, or beer garden. I go places alone and it's boring. On weekends I want to have plans to go out, I want someone to go new places with...because even if you're okay going places alone sometimes it's just awkward: sitting at a bar alone it's unlikely you'd have much fun, and sometimes you need a friend as a wing-man to meet someone without looking desperate or weird! There is an American boy and girl at our school too, our year, and they're going out. The boy is tall and blond and thinks he's more macho than he really is. They're so touchy feely its hilarious, always holding hands, always kissing. So my brother and I decided we would smack the girl's a$s just as a prank, just to see the boy's reaction. During a free period, we both sneaked up on them from behind, and quickly gave each of her cheeks a nice little smack. As they turned quickly, we started laughing. Her bf turned around, and I was scared by how angry he looked. He quickly gave a very hard slap on my brother's face, and asked us what we were doing. I just mumbled "Well it was there, so we smacked it." He slapped my face and responded, "Well your faces are here too, so is it fine that I'm smacking them?" He slapped both our faces again, and I started crying, while my brother was tearing up. He told us to get lost. I don't think he understands how culturally important the face is in China. It is the ultimate disrespect to punish someone by slapping their face, especially for boys. We didn't tell anyone because it would have been so embarrassing to say both brothers got our faces slapped by some American boy. We're from a rich family and no one has dared to touch us before, let alone slap our faces. Did he have any right? |

My best friend of 10 years told me a night before going out of town for my birthday that she does drugs hardcore. I cannot stand people that do drugs because my dad was a drug addict and it ruined my family ( he's good now ) and she knows that but it seems like she's bragging about it. We drove to San Fransisco and the whole trip was $500 overall. My dads work paid for half of it but I feel so guilty. I was miserable the whole time and totally regretted going. I'm really thankful for everything and a good kid I promise but during this trip I was totally miserable, I made sure to say thank you a lot but I was upset the whole time. I didn't want to be around my friend but I couldn't cancel it because everything was already planned out. I feel so horrible, I dropped my best friend, and that was my birthday celebration so i'm not doing anything else and I totally blew it for myself. Posted: 18 Jun 2017 02:33 PM PDT Last week I was out with friends on holiday when (let's call her) Abbie told us we were too drunk and we needed to go back to the hotel. I got in an argument with her because I was having fun and wanted to stay out. I have no memory of the argument but apparently I was verbally abusive. I blacked out and next thing I remember was my friend Vera saying I should apologise to Abbie and everyone agreed I had gone too far with the insults. Yet none of them will tell me in detail what I said to her. The only thing I found out was that I yelled "Look at the state of you!" at Abbie but that's the extent of what they told me. I am terrified that I insulted her appearance or something really mean like that. When I apologised (multiple times!) Abbie seemed fine with it, she didn't seem upset at all. She said she knew I was drunk and didn't mean what I was saying but I still feel terrible because those insults were clearly lurking in my subconscious somewhere. If Abbie says she forgives me should I just move on? If a friend insulted your appearance while drunk would you forgive them because they didn't know what they were saying?...or would you hold a grudge? I am very ashamed of my conduct that night and the fact that I don't know what I said makes it hard to move on. |

We were unfortunately in a fist fight and she was sh*t talking etc. We tried to squash it but when I talk to her seems like she's lying. Every time I come home, I would hang out with my my life friends, but when my mom is around, she would look suspicious or would tell my friend that he would get hemmeroids for sitting down for too long. In my mom's eyes, she see him as a gay stoner which she doesnt accept. He has been my best friend since first grade. Whenever I have friends that graduated from Harvard over to my house, my mom would build a shrine over them. I did ask her what was her problem, she kept denying that she has problems with whom i hang out with. It gets to the point where I do not allow my friends over anymore. And that I decided to change my work schedule from 9-5 to 2-10pm, so I can avoid all her nonsenses and so I can have an excuse to wake up later. That schedule gave me less time to hang out with my friends cuz I would only be available in the morning. At least its better than going home and listen to my mom's lecture about human-trash. Overall, I became sick and tired of the way I am living that I have an affair with a neighbor, a 30 year old woman, several times a week. Whenever I came home after that, sometimes there would be police cars in front of my house for me and a novel of texts about where I was. I was even forced to take a drug test. Ive been on several relationships and my mom hated them all. I feel stuck in a fish bowl. My fwb wanted to take me to cancun, I just wanted to just pack and leave, but mom will track me.Help |

I was a brat who wanted to fit in with his friends and that usually meant bullying innocent people to do so. One person I bullied most was Hailey, a new girl who I attended several classes with. Don't ask me why because she served as an easy target for harassment. Although I bullied her, Hailey never got sad or angry at me, never retaliated, and never ratted me out to anyone about everything I had said and done to her. She was just easily forgiving and a sweet person. Eventually I did get severely busted by a teacher and expelled from that school. In high school I went through a hell of regret for my actions I've since learned my lessons and recovered. When I started college, whether it was fate or not, I met Hailey again. It felt awkward knowing how I bullied her, and I apologized more times than I can count. Surprisingly Hailey held no grudge and said she felt how much regret I went through and understood I how I was just a guy trying hard to fit in with his friends. We started talking some more and oddly enough we've become close friends. She really is a nice girl and I really want to makeup for the years of torment I caused her and others. But why does she want to be friends with someone who bullied her? Do I even deserve Hailey's friendship and kindness? Also, lately Hailey has been struggling to tell me something and shyness gets the best of her. What is she trying to tell me? |

I never got along with someone so well. We had alot in common and we were very similar. We texted 24/7 and had daily phonecalls since January. I REALLY liked her. We graduated in mid-May. Once school was over we still saw eachother 2x a week. Shes been acting strange since school ended, she started talking down to me, acting rude, i eventually stood my ground and defended myself when needed, which led to petty arguments. She suddenly texted me last week that shes too busy with 2 jobs to be talking to me everyday. That is a BS excuse! She had 2 jobs AND college when we met and made the time to happily talk to me 24/7. Now she suddenly cant? We havent texted since Tuesday. She is not being honest about why we ended. I think she met someone. Should i text her or get over my first real "love" i guess? |

She said she has this crazy story to tell me and so I asked about it and then she said she couldn't tell me over text, she would have to ft me. He can't afford nice clothes or new shoes, haircuts, etc. He can't afford matching outfits either. Everything is used. He is VERY shy, and also He also is VERY sensitive. If anything at all goes wrong (Say he forgets his homework, or someone tells him how to improve something he did) he will burst into tears. If we tell him to stop crying and deal wit the situation, he tells on us. He is also a very bad student, as he almost never finishes his projects and never studies. Then when a teacher tells him he failed their class he cries and yells about how unfair it all is. Not only that, but if a kid has a new outfit or an expensive haircut or goes on a vacation, no matter how humble the kid is about it, Brian flashes them dirty looks and calls them a Douchebag. Brian also hates most celebs and If you mention them, Brian calls them Billionaire Douchebags. I have always been as nice as possible to Brian, but when I come into school with something new (My family can afford nice things, Cars, Vacations, Etc) Brian flashes me dirty looks. It is Summer right now, and when I go into 8th grade, I want to face Brian and tell him to stop being so resentful and to deal with his life, but in the nicest way possible. |

We're taking the same courses and working hard throughout the semester but my grades are higher. Everytime i get better she becomes depressed, and whenever she gets better she flies from happiness and keeps joking and laughing the whole time. If we both get low grades but she is still better than me she'll be content. She even told me that she once heard that someone has barely passed in uni yet he is now very successful and that grades don't matter and that gave her hope as if trying to tell me that I'm nothing or putting me down. She've thrown some hurtful words as she is "joking" but I know she means it and she is always against me when we're with group of friends as if I'm her enemy. She is speaking to me in front of others in a sarcastic way though I am always trying to be kind and whenever i do anything wrong toward her i apologize. i used to be the first one to know about what's bothering her but now she'd prefer to talk to others... she can go days without asking about me and she is not sharing with me anything that's going in her mind as before. I am sick of this attitude especially that I'm not the only one in our group who has better grades yet I'm the only one being treated badly. So I'm going into high school and unfortunately I have been cursed with living as a poor peasant in an all-rich town. Basically how it works here is that poor=no friends and rich=popularity. Honestly I laughed when I learned of this. What is this, third grade all over again? Now I honestly don't care about popularity at all. All I want is a good amount of friends. At all the other schools I've been to, money didn't matter and I was pretty much friends with everybody. I suppose I was popular, but not in a top of the food chain, perfect, it-girl kind of way. All I want is to be friends with a lot of people and not be judged and have to people give me a chance despite my poorness. It's not like I'm a crappy poor kid either like I clean myself up nice and everything. I don't seem like I'm poor at first glance either. However, I do not dress like all the rich girls do because I don't like how their style is all the same. I don't want to have to change myself to make friends either. I just need tips on how to make it so that the rich kids see that just because I'm poor doesn't mean that I'm cursed or something. Please help |

During these 3 days my friend barely spoke with me. She is my best friend and we normally talk multiple times a day. After the seminar I asked her how it was and she said she has no more anxiety. We went on a trip the same week and I noticed I kept getting frustrated with her. She was treating me as though she was better than me. I felt stupid. We kept getting into arguments because she would think I was being grumpy. But really I was stressed from the way she was treating me. I just didn t want to say anything. She said the seminar taught her to make friends. So she would try to speak to strangers and have them follow her on social media. While I was talking my old friend she started to tell me about all my problems and because of my past that I am a closed minded person. Then she said, "not to hurt your feelings but that s why I have more friends than you". This is when I broke. She is not the type of person to say things like this. It was strange. She had this mentality that she is better than me and that because she was talking to so many strangers, that she has more friends. What really upset me was when she started to say "your dog doesn t count as your friend". I just so happen to have a dog and take her with me everywhere. I m a dog person. My friend is not. But saying these words to me was so hurtful and degrading. What has happened to her? Should I talk to her about it? Or will that make it worse? |

He calls me to tell me about his day. Sometimes we just hang out (we never had sex). He takes me around his close friends. Actions speak LOUDER than words. His actions & his words don't match. | Question: How to get more comfortable with hugs? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 11:10 PM PDT In my family growing up we weren't very affectionate. My family only hugged on Christmas, birthdays, etc. As i got older and i visited my friends house some parents would hug their children everyday when they came home from work. Then when i hit high school friends would give eachother hugs. I'd mostly just wave at people and when people came up to me and those people would hug me i would feel awkward. So how do i get more comfortable with hugs? |

During school, I had a few close friends that I thought would stick around for the summer and we could hang out more than we did during the school year. Two friends and I planned to hang out yesterday (Saturday) when the school year was still going on. I wanted to confirm with them the plans we had made; one of them never responded and I still have yet to hear from him, and the other ignored me up until this past Thursday and told me she couldn't go. Now since I didn't have any plans anymore with them, I agreed to my other friend and I hanging out. She then told me she couldn't and tonight, I saw her with one of her other friends. It really broke my heart to see that when my friend clearly had plans with me.. these girls and my guy friend talked so much during school. I'd give two of them rides home all the time, so I was happy to do anything for them. The girl who said she couldn't hang out (the one I made plans with that went down the drain) was drinking on her Snapchat story, and once again, my heart broke. I feel like they were using me for stuff that I helped them out with, but I just don't know. They were people I thought I could count on, but what they're doing totally changes my image of them. I just feel so lonely. I am starting to get depressed. I'm not a mean person whatsoever and even if they were mean to me, I wouldn't be mean back. What do I even do? Thank you in advance. |

I was talking about this horrible girl from my grade who talks bad about people behind their back and my friend snaps at me "why do you care so much?". All I said is she does it to other people so why should it be a big deal. I was so confused because we had talked bad about her before. She just isn't a good person at all. Later that day I was saying how one of our "friends" posted some stuff that I thought was cringy and she would be embarrassed over later. She posted another thing where it didn't match with the trend but that's what she was going for. Once again this friend snapped at me that I shouldn't care and should just stop. But my friend had been talking about how this girl was annoying and not our friend just a couple minutes earlier. I mean I never really saw that talking about friends was bad. I don't say anything that mean. Just that she is obsessed with boys, tries to hard to fit in and doesn't dress like herself. I don't see that as rude or backstabbing. But if I am being rude I'd like to be able to change that. Is my friend right? Do I care too much about what they're doing? Or was she just in a bad mood? |

We were good pals at first quite cordial with each other, to where I kinda called him like a bro and he said we're like cousins. From that day on, him and I were legit like fam. Now, we both look a lot different and have gotton more attractive. We do everything together, we go out to eat, he lets me drive his car, he quit the job we both worked because I got fired (manager didn't like us), and he's always there, as I am for him. His parents and mine both think the whole cousin thing is crazy that it's childish. I definitely like him and have feelings for him. I have met his parents, and they both like me; especially his mom. He's going to take me out for my birthday, but he told me his blood cousin wants to meet me. (it's not a hookup, his cousin is married) I'm kinda nervous because him and Edwin are like brothers and I'm not sure if I'm being judged or if he wants to know if I'm worthy of him. If him and I aren't dating, why does he want to meet me? he wants me to meet his sister too |

As a matter of fact I have everything that a 14 year old could want. But anyways I just can't take it here anymore. I'm worried about my dad (his mom just died) and he's started drinking. My mom is still depressed from back when her mom died and she's always talking about how she doesn't think she has much time left. I have an older brother but he doesn't care about anyone else besides himself. Then there's me. I have no friends. The friends I do have don't hardly care about me. They barely text me anymore. No one asks how I feel and when I do and tell them, they don't give a ****. Everyone I've cared about or loved has moved away meanwhile I'm stuck in this hood ghetto *** city that I've lived in all my life. I hate it here so much. I don't fit in. Anyhow, a close friend that I hadn't seen in person for months (she studied abroad for a semester) invites me to a party where she goes to school. I had met a handful of people before we got there, and introduced myself as she went around saying hi to people she knew. About half an hour in, she leaves me to play beer pong with a friend, so I chat to people on the couch. It then becomes obvious that she had no intention of sticking around me at all. So the whole night she mingled with her other friends from school, and left me to chat with whoever I could find. I would occasionally go find her, we'd hang for all of 5 mins and she'd be gone again. It totally pissed me off! I like meeting new people to a certain extent, but I also hardly ever see her even when she's in the US, and we used to be "best friends". Was I owed at least a, "hey, I'm going to see whose out in the garage, wanna come?" Every now and then? |

So anyways, after lunch, my bros and I hanged out and we made jokes and had a good laugh. I made an offensive comment about my teacher who was supposedly wearing a tiger pattern dress on that very day. I told my friends that I would "poach that tiger" as a joke but it was overheard by one of my close female friends. Her face shuddered with horror and disgust and I feel terrible. After the incident, she acts strangely around me almost like in an alienating way. How can i approach this problem? Would she hate me forever? How would you guys feel? Thank you for your time. |

I was in charge of restocking the bags, taking out he trash, and restocking the drinks and snacks in the fridge. I made a drink list of the items that we needed and when I handed it to her she got back from getting the drinks and she blamed me for not being clear. I made the list like this 1. 3 colas 2. 4 fantas 3. 3 Diet pepsi this list went down to the ten she read it as 1.3 , 2.4. I tried to explain to her what I mean and another associate said I was putting the I in team and that i wasnt being clear. Should I apologize for this? Should I have to apologize for this? I dont think I should apologize for this to be honest because that was pretty clear to me! |
