Question: My friend's Nigerian roommate puts dead flowers on her bed...? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 04:19 PM PDT My friend is part of an international student housing program. She was placed with a girl from Nigeria. My friend, lets call her Lucy, admits she doesn't make her bed very often (if at all). Every now and then, Lucy will come home to find her bed made and a single, dead, petal-less, flower under her sheets...What does this mean? Is this some sort of Nigerian tradition? Is it bad? A dead flower stem doesn't sound very positive, but we are trying to be open about it. Lucy and her roommate hardly communicate because of their work hours so they don't really have any sort of relationship. |
Question: Not a lot of people like me in school. What do I do? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 03:40 PM PDT I m 14 and just went into year 10. An incident happened were my mate sent me the n word a lot of times and I copy and pasted it to a group chat with no black people in. But my friend who is white put a screenshot of it on his story and now everyone hates me. What do I do. I said sorry to all the people I offended and nothing seems to be right. |
Question: How can I get out of hanging out with this coworker? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 01:49 PM PDT I work with this girl who is.. different. A lot of my coworkers make fun of her and try to avoid her. I felt bad for her and whenever she was in the break room when I was, I would talk to her and tried to befriend her. A couple weeks go by and she asked me if I wanted to hang out after work. I told her sure and she suggested we go to her local gym to work out since we both said we wanted to get in better shape. We didn't go to the gym together since I got off work later than she did but we met up there and she was wearing the weirdest outfit. I know you guys won't believe me when I say this but she had on bowling shoes and flare jeans. I asked her why she was wearing that and she said she moved recently and has all her gym shoes/clothes were in a box somewhere. So as we're working out, she suggests we do some workouts with the mat. She wanted to literally do this workout where it looks like we're playing a game of twister. Like I'm laying down, she puts one hand there one leg there. It was so weird and I told her let's do something else. Also that day we were working out, we were doing pilate type exercises and she literally was making sex noises while doing them. We were counting out loud and said would be moaning and it just sounded so weird. She wants to hang out again but I honestly don't want to. I felt embarrassed that day and I'll still be nice to her at work but I don't want to hang out. What should I say when she asks me? Also, is this rude of me? |
Question: Did I poop myself? How can I find out without others noticing? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 11:26 AM PDT I am in a meeting right now at worked and I farted 10 minutes ago, it was silent, but I felt something else come out, and the room still smells. they don't know it was me though. how can I check without them knowing what I did? please help!! EDIT: I am wearing gray pants, so I won't be able to stand up EDIT: It was a false alarm |
Question: Perverted dog. What should I do?? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 11:06 AM PDT My best friend has a perverted gay dog who I absolutely hate. He always has this dog with him (it's a rottweiler) whenever it sees me he gets super aggressive and trys to jump me. My friends think its hilarious especially since I have a borderline phobia of dogs. They just laugh it off even when I ask the to get him to stop. Today I just got fed up and kicked him and my friend start yelling and going off on me even tho I kept asking him to get hos dog. I did feel a little bad just bc I know it's not really the dogs fault it's just an animal but I'm absolutely pissed that my friend went off on me when he knows how I feel about and let's his dog mess with me anyway. He's only had his for a few months but I legit cant even stand to be around any of them (my friends usually hang out together) because the dog is always there. Before anyone goes off on me, I apologized for kicking the dog and bought him a treat. I'm not mad at the dog, it's just f-king with my social life and it seems like no one cares and just thinks it's funny. I'm not tryna be petty or childish I just really dont like dogs and his is literally attacking me all the time. |
Posted: 05 Sep 2018 11:03 AM PDT For example: My friend was thirsty. They asked me where the water was? I said I didn't know. Later I brought them water. They said that I didnt have to do that. They didn't ask me to bring water, They just asked where the water was. And when there was no chair in the room. I brought a chair for them. They said I didn't have to do that; they could do it by themselves. Am I overthink? Do they consider me as their friend? Because those were just simple things. Why didn't they accept my little help? I am really curious. Have you ever refused someone's little help?and why? I'd very appreciate for your answers |
Question: Should we take him to the ER??? Or am I overreacting??? (Advice)? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 09:47 AM PDT Me and a group of friends went to a skate park earlier this morning and where practicing some tricks with our skateboard when one of my friends got over confident and tried to do a flip of the railing. He ended up loosing his balance and fell and hit his head pretty hard (we heard his head hit the ground). He normally wears a helmet but took it off right before he fell bc he said it was too hot. Anyways,he was unconscious for a little while and seemed like he was having a seizure but when he finally woke up he was like "I'm fine". We asked him if he wanted us to take him to the hospital and he said no he felt fine. I still wanted to take him but my other friends were getting on me about overreacting. Plus he said if I called them he would just refuse treatment, even though he just turned 18 a couple weeks ago. Since then he's been complaining of a headache, slurring his words, throwing up, falling asleep then waking back up, breathing funny, keeps asking for water and taking a long time to think of stuff. Not to mention he keeps forgetting he banged his head, but over an hour later and he still claims he's fine. Should we take him to the hospital, can he actually refuse treatment even though he doesnt even remember that he got hurt. Or am I actually overreacting? They dont believe he's actually just bc he said he's fine. |
Question: Close Friend Completely Ignoring Me, Should I Reach Out Again? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 08:55 AM PDT I (22m) have been close friends with this girl (22f) for almost 2 years. We are in college together in a very small program and I see her everyday and will see her everyday in class for the next 3 years. Back in April, she said some fairly mean things to me (not worth repeating) and I sent her a text calling her mean basically saying that other people think she is mean also (they do). I immediately apologized (it was sent out of an emotional state), I called her and texted her. She ignored everything (may have even blocked my number). I sent her 2 emails, Facebook Message and even reached out to mutual friends to apologize for the text I sent. She has read and ignored absolutely everything. It's been almost 5 months and after reaching out to her multiple times she has completely ignored me. When I see her in class she just drops her head or hides from me. What more can I do? I am just shocked that someone, let alone a close friend, would lack the common decency to respond. It is obvious that she is hurting herself by doing this. Why is she continuing to hold a grudge and what should I do? Easy answer is to just move on...but she is a colleague in my program and I see her EVERYDAY in class. |
Question: Is this what a real friend would do? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 08:38 AM PDT My crush accepted my friend Facebook request, my friend created drama and fighting over it. She told me her and I need a break from the friendship. |
Posted: 05 Sep 2018 08:25 AM PDT My old friend played games with me. She knew she stressed me out with her drama. I told her how happy I was not to worry about her playing games with me anymore. Her sister showed up to my work trying to make me feel awkward and uncomfortable. |
Question: I have a crush on my friend's husband and I don't want to work with him? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 07:33 AM PDT I have been unemployed for a year. I have been looking for a job and getting interviews but not getting hired. My friend's husband who is a manager said he is hiring an assistant. I have a degree and experience to work. But I try to stay far away from her husband. My mom thinks I should work with him because I am not getting hired in anywhere else so why not get hired in a position where your getting paid lots of money. Am I dumb for staying unemployed and turning down the job offer of friend's husband? |
Question: Feel bad for leaving my friends? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 07:30 AM PDT So I'm 18, started college and made a few friends over the last few days, after class we hung about the town and then we went to the bar, I don't drink and the other 3 bought beers, after a while I felt kinda awkward because all they were talking about was house parties this weekend while smoking roll ups, so I set a fake call on my phone and I left, I'm on Coumadin/Warfarin so I won't and never will drink alcohol or smoke, I suffer with depression mainly because of my heart operation 3 years ago and I just hate being around smokers and bars and I just feel left out. I mean, the guys are ok, one helps me with college assignments and some of the others just look like they couldn't care less about their lives (wasters, they talk about getting extremely drunk, smoking weed etc) and I'm just sitting there like 'cool' Although I feel bad and arrogant for leaving, maybe I am too sensible but that's just me, Am I overreacting? |
Question: Is it ok that having friends is not important to me anymore? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 07:06 AM PDT I liked having friends but now I think differently because people will let us down and I have been feeling really let down so now I'm just done. Is it ok to be this way? |
Question: How to break-up with a Pen Pal? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 06:48 AM PDT A while back I connected with person who shares my hobby. We had a nice chat and decided to stay in touch on social media, but somehow it turned into back and forth emails. She sends me insanely long messages with a play-by-play of her life, venting about stress, kids, etc ... I ve been responding with empathetic, yet brief replies, even waiting a week to hit "send". But she can t seem to take the hint. She s a lovely person, but her emails have become too much for me to keep up with ... or (I hate to say it) even care, as I hardly know her. We follow each other on social media and will most likely run into her in person, so I really want to avoid creating any awkwardness. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Question: Is this normal for high school? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 03:13 AM PDT I never heard any of this stuff but I made friends that said they would "protect" me and One of my friends worships the devil and constantly says Satan has sent a message from the hells to him that we need to be together and the other guy has real depression and is always in trouble one day I was hanging in the library and he yelled at me get Mimi i wanna be buried face down A -ss up so the whole world can kiss my A-ss. O don't know what he did but, he got tackle by a bunch a police and lunch detention for a week. Question: Risk or tolerate?( help please! )? Posted: 05 Sep 2018 01:12 AM PDT Ok this is really important. i want to move to a new school because my friends bullied me and there is only 6 month left. School officials told me not to move to a new school cause it takes some time to adapt and the other school i want to go is lower in every case. but you whats really annoyed me was their ideas a bout me . she told me that you are too sensitive and tried to convince me to stay there. i hate that people think im sensitive and then act me nice just because of that. everyone are like that and it makes me feel like i have no real power . Everyone just pity me. there is nothing more humiliating and heartbreaking than that. its heartbreaking when everyone treat you like a fragile kitty cat. i look and sound like it but i am not like that at all. YOU KNOW I HATE IT WHEN THEY TRY TO TAG YOU THE PERSONALITY YOU DONT HAVE AND TELL EVERYONE A BOUT IT AND TREAT ME LIKE A VILLAGE GIRL. IT HURTS! i thought moving to a new school help me to make a better first impression on others. But i dont know what to do. CAN YOU GUYS TELL ME YOUR IDEA A BOUT IT? I HAVE TO MAKE THIS Decision UNTIL SUNDAY |
Posted: 04 Sep 2018 06:31 PM PDT My bestfriend hates hugs, from everyone. It makes me sad because im a big hugger... I'm going to visit her next week and as much as I look forward to it, I don't want to go... because as soon as I get there I will be having so much fun, especially after a whole week with her. And once my flight leaves, I'm going to want to hug her so bad and I can't because she doesn't like hugs. Which I respect but, I don't want to feel that sadness in my heart... |

Posted: 04 Sep 2018 10:33 AM PDT I have known her husband for years because my husband and I were high school sweethearts so I met all of his friends a long time ago. Anyways, upon meeting her we both had babies that were the same age and we immediately clicked. We went from friends to best friends quickly. We hung out whenever we could, we could talk to each other about anything. We are just very close. Recently this year we took a trip to Las Vegas and she, who is married, cheated on her husband (making out with another guy), but my other friend that was with us who she is close with now too...we both got her back to the room and expressed how uncomfortable that made us feel but also letting her know that we were worried about her. We advised her to tell her husband because we were not going to keep this from out husbands, and the next morning she kind of told him what happened but not the whole truth. We got back from Vegas and she eventually told him the truth. Ever since then things have been different. She has recently had a bunch of changes in her life, has surrounded herself with new people, and has distanced herself from me. I have not changed my behavior to her in the slightest, and we have always talked to each other about everything. Now she is completely different with me and I am hurting a bit I guess. I have already talked with her, but everything is still the same. She is so important to me...what should I do? Friends with this girl" |
