In 2015 my sister in law passed away from cancer. It is tragic. My oldest niece who is going to be 21 started hating me immediately after the passing of her mother. I have tried to understand she is still grieving. I have offered support to her and space if she doesn't want to be around people. I have tried reaching out to her so many times. Her younger siblings are not lashing out the way she is.She used to go for rides with me and enjoy going to the beach with her younger sister we would have a nice time. I used to help her with her homework and take her shopping I knew her for nearly nine years before she completely shut me out of her life. Her younger sister still treats me with respect and love. I can respect that she is still grieving but I don't understand the anger or where it comes from. I have never been cruel to her or abusive in any way. She is nice too several people around her but mean to me and it really hurts. She made it very clear that she hates me and never gave me a reason why. Now she is getting in fights, attempted suicide and is getting into drugs. She dropped out of school and refuses therapy. I am no longer a part of her life as I can no longer tolerate the abuse. She has turned in to a very mean person to many other people. I hope she finds peace and closure. I fear that she will end up dead or in jail. Why does she hate me so much? I did not cause her pain. Please help me understand. I dont think she will ever talk to me again.

I went to visit my dad today and She was annoying.she called me a grouch because I didn't want to talk to her. She claims she needs her methadone to live. She has gotten credit cards in my dads names, my grandpa's name, she claimed my dad hit her and they locked him up for 3 days, she says I am the reason why she abandoned me for 8 years, she always asks for drug money and cigarettes, and she got mad when I told her to get off the methadone. She moved back into my dads house. They got divorced in 1998. I have a good boyfriend and family but she has damaged me. My life has been great since I blocked her. She one time had her ex husband (not my dad) make fun of me for needing a training bra at age 10. She told him to laugh at me and it made me upset. What kind of mom does that? She also lied about being in a car wreck. Coincidentally I was in a car wreck where I could have died. She lied about having cancer too. Am I wrong for cutting her out.of my life? My dad is kicking her out soon.

they need family support to let them know they have not been abandoned. not even phone calls to let them know they are loved and will not be forgotten. this sounds so wrong to do to a child making them think nobody cares about them.

I am a 15 year old female who likes to take apart dead animals. It starts with my cats killing birds and rodents and then I enjoy skinning and deboning them. I come from a vegan family so my siblings and parents do their best to support me but you can sense their discomfort. I don t feel remorse but I want to know if this is a normal thing for teenagers to do. I m not trying to be an edgelord, I think my subconscious reasons for doing this are purely human curiosity based. However, one of my pet degus died yesterday and I wanted to dismember it but my parents pleaded with me not to. Is this also concerning?

I've been in an abusive home for about 5 years. I have a younger sister and she's 3 years old. My father (not an alcoholic) hits me, kicks me and punches me, my mother insults me in terrible ways. I have 2 failed suicide attempts with pills. My father is working a lot, therefore he's tired and mad. My mother provokes him, yells at him and they constantly argue. He takes it out on me. I've been struggling with severe depression, PTSD, anxiety and panic attacks. I've been hiding it from them, but since it puts a lot of pressure on me - I cut. None of my relatives believe me, since my parents pretend that they don't know what I'm talking about. We can afford a lot of things and they think that buying me whatever makes me happy, when in reality I just want to be loved. I've been thinking of going to my school's psychologist, but I'm afraid. The most logical thing would be to either talk to relatives (already done) or call child services, but here's the thing - in my country it's considered normal or not that big of a deal, therefore they wouldn't do anything. I'm under 18 and I cannot live nor travel on my own. I'm trying to avoid my parents as much as I can. "You're a mistake", "You're nothing", "I can't believe how stupid you actually are" are things I hear every day (and many more). I'm afraid my sister will end up worse than me. How do I deal with it? I need tips... I *know* it will change in a few years, but I'm afraid I won't be able to deal with it for much longer.

My mother's boyfriend is really pissing me off. He has has hit me my mother and sister. Him and my mother argue 24/7 I don't know who the **** he thinks he is. I am 19, currently in a what seems to be a rough situation. My mom is bipolar, and generally because of this, she is verbally abusive and screams a lot. My entire life I have struggled to be happy because I cannot stand how much she yells. My dad is currently working part time as an uber driver, but he has parkinson s disease and is waiting on an answer for disability. My dad has always been close with me, and he agrees that we need to move out, but with his current financial and medical situation it has been difficult. My mom is a nurse, so our health care is provided for by her, including my father s, but my parents are not really together. My mom lets my dad live in the same household and stay married because he will lose his health care otherwise. My mom about a year and a half ago got back with her ex boyfriend from 30 years ago, who she left for drinking too much. This guy has been in and out of jail for stealing and selling guns, DUI, and aggravated assault. About 8 months ago, he relapsed on cocaine and my mom is so crazy for him that she stayed with him. When he got out of rehab, she told him to move in with us, and he has been living with us ever since. Recently as he has gotten more comfortable with us, he has seemed to think he can now parent me and try to act like my father, and my mom loves it. She tries to get me angry on purpose in the hope that he will "discipline me" and she wants him to get physical. My dad is really mad, but cannot do anything.

She won't let me have the holidays cause she is mad at my Dad about the divorce. She lets me have it with her but it is awful not to see my Dad and she only lets me see him on 4th of July and days that are not holidays. She even won't let me on Father's Day cause she says he is not much of a father and that my grandfather (her father) is the one who loves me like a son. So she makes me see her father on Father's Day instead of mine. I am 14 and I hate holidays and am dreading Easter already. How do I fix the pain? My Dad is not much help as he says he is done fighting with her. My Mom won't let me have joy on the holidays I guess to get my Dad back since he remarried 2 years ago (they divorced almost 8 years ago).

They already know how upset I get over my height. It's so bad that I can be driven to tears if someone so much as says the word "height" to me. Call me stupid all you want. It is, and has been for years, my biggest insecurity. That's why I need the lifts.

My mom and my stepdad have been together since I was one and he's been more frequent in my life than my biological father, who I am very close with but we just don't see each other often. I live at home with my mom and stepdad, and two younger sisters - one is 12 the other is 10. I'm 19 now and finishing up my sophomore year of college, my parents told me I can live with them rent free as long as I'm still in school and working . The problem with working 30 hours a week on graves and going to school for 19 credit hours is that my schedule is super busy; there are some days when I barely have any time to sleep at all. So on the days that I have any downtime I'm trying to get in as much sleep as I can, work on homework and projects, or practice art and animating because that's my major and the only way to get better at anything is to practice, so I think my parents think I just laze around all day when I'm really just exhausted. My stepdad and I have always butted heads, even more so when I started getting into politics. Nowadays, my dad will barely talk to me and if he does it's always about something I'm doing wrong and he just seems pissed about everything I do. He was joking about me living at home until I'm 30 and he was doing it in a way that made it seems like he wants me to leave now because he kept asking me when I was planning on leaving. What should I do about it because I just feel unwanted at home now and I love him but things between us are really tense.

I think my mom was very emotionally abusive when I became a teenager and occasionally physically. Until one day I fought back and we barely talk now. I'm still mad about the crap she put me through (I'm still 18)

I keep my diary underneath my mattress because it's the best place to hide it so my mom doesn't read it. Today, she changed my sheets and I found the diary in a different place then it usually was. I don't know if I just forgot that I put my diary less close to the middle than it usually is or she actually read it, but I'm paranoid that she knows all my secrets. This wouldn't be a bad thing, I don't have anything to keep from her. Except one thing. I wrote I was gay. She's really homophobic, so it's pretty safe to say that I'll be looked at differently. She didn't confront me or anything about it, but just the thought that she might know is scaring me. I guess there's not really any question to be answered here, but I'm just looking for anything to maybe comfort me. Thank you.

Hi, I'm a young female teen and I'm a competitive swimmer and I have been for 4 years. I have two parents I love a lot, but sometimes my dad can just be a pain in the butt. He's only happy when I do something at my very best... today I came home from a state championship swim meet and added half a second. When I got home, he said "why did you add time?" I'm very disappointed." And I was like "what the heck?" Thats so rude. He treats my brother the same way, (he's a golfer.) he gets really mad at him for having a bad golf, or even if he doesn't want to practice one day, my dad will think we will grow up to be failures and not do anything with our life. It's all about sports to him... I'm not going to confront him, it will just be more trouble. He's going to end up making my brother and I quit something we both love... my mom Of course stands up to him to not treat us this way...
