Question: I have no Maid of Honor..is that okay? Posted: 10 Jul 2019 08:40 PM PDT My best friend of 6years was supposed to be my Maid of Honor. She agreed to it. After a few months, I noticed that some of my bridesmaids and both my fiance's family and my extended family were more supportive and involved in my wedding planning than my M.O.H. was. Therefore, I asked if she still wanted to be M.O.H. She admitted she didn't wish to be because it was too much responsibility for her to take on during some recent changes in her life. Recently, she randomly came to me to say she thinks we've reached a point in our lives where we're too different and that we should go our separate ways and that was that. Now, I have no best friend and of course, no Maid of Honor. Is it okay for there not to be a Maid of Honor? I do have a few bridesmaids, but a couple of them don't live in my state and the other is a close friend who I don't see often because of differing work schedules. A Hunch, why do so many people on here act like Maid of Honors don't do crap in the wedding? What's the point of having one if they're not involved with the wedding planning? Every woman I know who has gotten married, have had Maid of Honors that have been seriously involved with planning. It's silly to think otherwise. ?, he IS my best friend, but I need a female best friend too.
Question: Asked to be maid of honor but somebody else already planned the wedding? Posted: 10 Jul 2019 10:35 AM PDT My friend asked me to be her maid of honor so I agreed. There will be no other bridesmaids so it's just me. However, as I was introduced to more of her and her fiance's family, I learned that her sister has already planned and booked everything, including the venue and dress. I want to support my friend but I'm not sure what's left for me to do! 😅 Any advice? (Also, shouldn't her sister be the MoH if she's the one doing all the planning? I don't know😳)
Question: What if I want to buy a house but my fiance doesn t want to apply to be on the loan? Posted: 10 Jul 2019 08:37 AM PDT It has been a dream of mine to buy a house. I tried before I met my fiance but couldn t get approved. I applied through a program sent through my employer (I m a teacher), and I was approved. However, with my debt to income ratio ( student loans) I wasn t approved for a whole lot. I have asked my fiance to apply to be a cosigner on the loan in order to qualify for a bigger loan amount. He makes less than me but the extra income would help. He has been really hesitant and even after reminding him, he hasn t done it. However, he has been trying to give inputs on house hunting. What should I do? I dont think it s fair for only my name to be on the loan and he ll also be living there.
Question: A question for high income earners? Posted: 10 Jul 2019 07:04 AM PDT I am going to be attending a friend's wedding in another state for four days. I calculated the money I spent on the trip plus the days I will be taking off will equal around $10,000. I then ask myself if sitting around with an old friend is worth that. People call me anti social now but I rather make $10,000 doing what I love at work than sitting at a table.
