Upon meeting I was almost immediately smitten. I had never met someone who had the same fun, goofy care free personality as myself. I told her when I met her that I was still "friends" with my ex-wife. Friends in the sense that we occasionally spoke on the phone, or Facebook. Now keep in mind I am from NY, and currently living in Minnesota where I met my GF. A couple days after meeting my gf I was messing around with my phone and snapped a photo of her cat b and the sunset. They came out amazing. Without thinking I went on FB messenger and sent them to my recent contacts. I only noticed after the fact my ex-wife was in the list. I however told my girlfriend about it as soon as we saw each other. She did not say anything about it. A few days later my ex posted something on Facebook that would hurt my kids feelings. I commented something to the effect of stop being on the passenger side of life and start driving yourself around. In other words, start taking responsibility for your actions and stop being a lowlife. |

And it's mainly because I let things other people say get to me especially comments about our age gap. But I think last week was the final straw my boyfriend has barely been talking to me and I feel awful. So on Sunday i bought his favorite candy and a small card and wrote how sorry I was and left it on his front porch. The card read i loved him and how sorry I was for the past few weeks. Apparently my boyfriend read the card and he actually texted me and we've been talking again. I told a few people that I had to bring his favorite candy and a card for him to open up to me again and now everyone it's telling me I bought his forgiveness TL:DR; i don't want to feel like he forgave me because of candy. That wasn't my intent. I just thought that would move a nice gesture. Was it dumb of me to apologize that way? |

All was fine between us but my best friend would not stop flirting with him the whole night and by the end so was he. I questioned where it came from and he said that it was his sister's and he placed it there to see if I trusted him due to me having some trust issues in the past. He has long hair and he does use them to tie his hair back, so I wasn't concerned about it. However, I noticed that there was a light brown hair on it (he has black hair), which could possibly be his sister's hair. I brought this up today because I'm still a little paranoid and he didn't mention putting the hair tie under his bed. I don't want to accuse him of cheating because I'm not certain, but I'm feeling uneasy about the situation. I should also mention that the hair tie incident happened while we were in a long distance relationship. |

Over the last few months however, we have gotten a lot closer. I am currently trying to figure out if she would be open to taking things further or if we are just fantastic friends. As I am notoriously bad at reading people, I thought I would go ahead and ask and see what others think. We spend a lot of time together. We are in many of the same classes and clubs. She invites me to a lot of cultural events at our university. She is usually down to do something fun (getting dinner, going to events, seeing movies, coming over and playing board games). I also took her skiing this past winter, and if we don't have any specific plans, she often tells me to let her know if I want to do something. When we eat together, we often share food and try each other's drinks and have shared a fork. We can talk about everything. During one of our conversations when I mentioned that I wanted to visit India and that she should tell me some fun less touristy stuff to do, she quietly asked if I wanted to go to her brother's wedding. She is not very touchy which she once explained was because PDA and touching people is frowned upon where she is from. When she found out that I got a job, she jokingly asked when I was going to take her out. She also mentioned while we were talking about how weddings work in her culture, that she might be willing to have hers here if she meets the right guy. |

We were in a long distance relationship and we were committed. His parents were never accepting of our relationship though. I was told the timing that was wrong/ his parents didn't think this was going to work out because of the distance between us and that he needs at least a year or two of job experience before thinking about such a commitment, so we broke up 3 weeks ago. Luckily I was able to meet and spend time with his siblings and I was able to see him graduate from med school last month and spend it with his family. Dating isn't allowed in our religion so the fact that he brought me over to meet his family was a big step for the both of us and really showed how serious he was! He told me that he didn't tell his parents we broke up because he wants to still try to make this work although he said no promises. We still text every so often and actually the other day we texted all night long, just talking and he told me he still wants to stay in touch every so often. I asked him that night if he still thought there was hope in us ever and he said "I honestly done see it working out. Im sorry. I really want it to but the chances are very slim. I still love you and always will. I'll bring this topic up again to my parents when the time is right but don't want to drag you along. It's not fair for you. Only time will tell". He actually texted me last night too asked about me and my vacation, which was really nice of him |

I feel utterly disgusting, I don't think there has ever been a time when I was complemented on my looks by anyone who wasn't my mom. My friend once said that some people are meant to be alone but I feel like if I was meant to be alone the rest of my life I wouldn't feel so lonely all the time. Anyways we bonded over our love for Stranger Things I saw her as the daughter I may have someday and I filled in as a father figure since hers had died and her step dad was a asshole. We watched all over Season one, but before we could watch Season 2 she would be moving away. I promised her that I would not watch Stranger Things Season 2 3 etc only with her someday. So here is is a year later and Season 3 came out on July 4th and keeping my promise. I guess I just wanted people opinion on this I always thought a promise is something that you can't break ever. I mean if I am dating some girl someday and she wants to watched Stranger Things and she keeps egging me on to watch her and I tell her this what is she going to think? |

A year ago, I got out of a really bad relationship and I wasn't in the right mindset going into this. I have screwed up a few times with this guy. I had continued to text a male coworker (we had a Snapchat streak of 200) who I had kissed in the past, after he asked me not to talk to him. I also went out to a concert and didn't tell him. I also went on a guy's shoulders at a pool concert. I realize the things I've done wrong, but now he says it's too late. I was in a single mindset and I feel like I've just woken up recently. We haven't seen each other in exactly 2 weeks and have just been arguing over text, with him basically saying that he doesn't want this. He said we can talk in-person tonight.
